Down Payment on Go5G Next Plan

I am currently locked into the MagentaMax plan and am considering switching to the Go5G Next Plan so we can upgrade yearly. When I got the phone I have now, I had to pay a down payment. Will I have to pay a down payment on the Next plan as well?
