I saw a comment somewhere that reporting it to the FCC helps. Seems to be an issue with Verizon. I reported it, we'll see if the helps.

Same problem. I just switched to T-Mobile and got a Pixel 6a, I previously had the Pixel 3 on Verizon. I cannot received texts from Android users on Verizon but I can on T-Mobile or AT&T. But I can receive messages if they are in a group chat. Very frustrating.
