Re: Android 12 Update for oneplus 7t Pro 5G McLaren
These are actions not covered under warranty, just so you're aware properly of the risk involved. @maan.mani Flashing the device will also delete all your storage, and includes the risk of bricking your device, which if it happens T-mobile will not cover it. Even then, the ROM may not work as intended if not designed for your locale. Exercise caution!9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Android 12 Update for oneplus 7t Pro 5G McLaren
You know this isn't how it works @syaoran This device is the "Hotdogg" Variant so if you went to the forums that's where you'd find several having this exact problem. In those posts you find people trying to flash their 7T Pro 5G McClaren Edition with those ROMs and its glitchy or doesn't work. Also, if what you're saying is true, and flashing can void you warranty or even brick a device, I guess that means you're proving me rigjt? Because that means being End of Life really does increase risk of bricking, cause even if you try to fix it, you might brick it anyways. Interesting cause it feels like we don't have a "right to repair" this device because we were sold this Variant with that premise of the unlocking bootloader, for it to not matter. As much as you think me making a stink is bad, one good thing that could happen is 3rd party development starts on a ROM. Maybe T-mobile could even fund it. We could call it "TheDirtyDeletePatch" and have the community members who have invested in this device be employed by tmobile to make the most out of it. The users of OnePlus phones are enthustiants and would love the recognition, and to help where tmobile lacks. Most people aren't here for posting, they just wanna update the phone dangit. The bootloader option isn't reality for 90% of people. What sucks though is that @syaoranI know that you know this isn't how this works because you know that T-Mobile had an update page made for the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McClaren Edition and you knew they deleted that page.. You've been active with me on this for months. You've got every excuse for it before, but now you've given up and resigned to admitting the device is end of life. That's a change of tone! Why? The question is, why now? Do you have new information that the update isn't coming? Could it be the mounting evidence of deleted pages and posts? Also, why do you act like I'm the enemy when I'm actually the man of the people? You act like I'm angry posting but I'm passion posting. I love customer service and it pains me to see it go so, so badly. It's amazing, that we got @syaoranto admit the update isn't coming hwen before we had to go to great lengths to explain that the T-mobile tracker being deleted was a problem for the T-mobile exclusive Variant. That tracker said "development stage" so it being deleted made me think, dang, guess it didn't pass development. I realized though that's just a guess since the page didn't update to say "yeah Android 12 ain't comin" like it should have. It pains me that you denied that for so long, kept up with fake deadlines, only to agree Its End of Life but that even if that's the case, it's not a problem. You very literally picked up the goalposts and moved it to where it felt more comfortable for you if I "scored" but unfortunately I see right through it. I think we should have fanfare for you admitting it's not arriving.I can't believe it. We flipped one in the jury. You agree the device will not get software update. Can't imagine why you've been telling users the contrary for months, but whatever secures the bag.12Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Android 12 Update for oneplus 7t Pro 5G McLaren
Unlocking a bootloader and flashing a ROM is not easy, because if it was, you would've described how. It's so risky that you actually might not be allowed to describe how on this fourm. Therefore, this is the appearance of advice, but in actuality, you wrote a bunch of words. This is not a solution to the phone not being updated. Any ROM would need to be designed for the "Hotdogg" Variant or you'd lose 5G. This is what @TCBellyis running into. Besides, if T-mobile kept their promise, updating wouldn'trequire a user to delete all data on the device like flashing a ROM does. This is why we need T-mobile to pick up the ball on the update. ¡Gracias!9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Android 12 Update for oneplus 7t Pro 5G McLaren
Excuse me but did @maan.maniget a worse experience because they are Pakistani? Why does @pbergonziget to just tell this user, after multiple times you've explicitly told this customer to keep waiting and waiting... Deadline after deadline for MONTHS... To ultimately tell them: "oh well, it'll come when it comes, seasons greetings" when we have been desperate to convey the update isn't coming, and you're hiding and manipulating customers to believe it's still in development! In my opinion you should not discriminate and Dismiss @maan.maniand their device issues like the touch issue. They have a four month post history and they keep getting swept aside. It's time to be honest and tell the user the update isn't coming. That most recent reply was really insulting because it felt like they told you they are from Pakistan out of a means to explain how much they could use another user's help, to be told "oh well". I bet that must really hurt. I want to tell you, @maan.mani that unless 3rd party development allows for your bootloader to be unlocked and there is a ROM made for your OnePlus 7t pro 5G Mclaren (codename "Hotdogg" with two G's) you will not receive any more updates and may even experience degradation as @TCBellyexperienced. I wish there was more help sooner but until T-mobile takes responsibility in development more than active censorship, the update will not arrive.11Visto1like0ComentariosRe: one plus 7t pro 5g McLaren multi touch issue
I feel you @TCBellyi wish we could run custom ROMs but sadly the "hotdog" Variant means you'll still not have 5G... Funny considered your situation of being told the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McClaren Edition is not capable of T-Mobile 5G despite being a T-mobile exclusive Variant. My outcry may cause more 3rd party development to save the phone, but I wish the outcry would cause development on T-Mobile side. Why is it up to us, the community, to ultimately fix their decisions? Sadly though, they refuse to update the device and continue to give false deadlines. This normally could be solved with the bootloader being unlocked, but since the variant is T-mobile exclusive, they really dropped the ball on their responsibility to where you can't even run a Custom ROM like you may of thought you would be able to having bought an enthusiast phone. Just another T-mobile failure sadly. You can run ROMs meant for "Hotdog" at your own risk but they will need modification to work on "Hotdog" so ultimately me and T-mobile are telling you, if you want the update, you gotta program it yourself. I wish they would hire us to do so, but we will see :)34Visto1like0ComentariosT-Mobile 5G Home Internet censors Bitcoin via throttling
I am experiencing throttling / internet brown outs on a capable, secure system. I have Tmobile 5G Home Internet handling my home internet and hopefully planned on hosting a lighting node. This is much like owning a wallet, and shouldn't be seen as irregular use, or even seen as business use as it's just a personal wallet for development and education. My issues are not related to hardware or software, and only began since switinching ISPs. First off, I have limited the bandwidth to 3Mbps down and 0.1 up. Despite this, my whole internet shuts off frequently when the node runs. Simply put, there are times I am streaming video and suddenly the stream pauses. I understand then that it must be T-mobile throttling my internet, so I try to rush to pause the internet. If I'm too slow, and I can't get to my node before the throttling becomes so extreme, my router will reset thinking the internet has been disconnected, and therefore disconnect and reconnect everything in the house. This has become a frequent problem throughout my education and though I've assured my family that running a Bitcoin node shouldn't affect the reliability of the internet, it has, and it's on the fault of T-mobile aggressive throttling. My issue is that despite this throttling on my end, limiting my bandwidth to an extreme level on that machine, T-mobile will throttle my whole network until I shut off internet completely to the Bitcoin node. It feels like a form of censorship when shutting off my 3mbps Bitcoin node instantly resumes my 4K 60Hz HDR Stream, and my family doesn't get why it makes no sense but given the differences in data, it doesn't make any sense. The TV that averages 100gb a week has no problems but this node averaging 40gb a week is so aggressively throttled it's seen as a nuisance by all other users of the internet. It makes no sense. The whole point of the Bitcoin Blockchain is to allow participants to download the ledger and then participate by being a node. T-mobile is coming off as anti-crypto and anti-consumer by limiting my traffic to this extent. I understand I signed up to be rate limited, I understood that my traffic might be monitored more. I didn't expect my daily life to be impacted and to be literally unable to do what I need to. I used about 600gb/mo across my whole household and have excellent reception on my 5G Modem. I have isolated the problem to T-mobile as an ISP and how they feel about traffic related to Bitcoin. I would hope we can allow for Bitcoin Core to be allowed by T-mobile 5G Home Internet. That would be a very pro-consumer move. I am interested in Blockchain over 5G cause buzzwords and I'm a nerd, so getting home 5G and running a Bitcoin node was something I really was excited to do as a nerd. It just is a shame I'm having this trouble. Has anyone else tried running Bitcoin or Crypto-related tasks and experiences similar censorship in the form of extreme rate limits?277Visto1like1ComentarioRe: Android 12 Update for oneplus 7t Pro 5G McLaren
Wait a minute… I was right? You set an arbitrary deadline, and halfway through you're already saying it's not coming??? I'm like, washing my eyes out right now making sure I'm seeing this... @syaoranadmits defeat! "I am thinking that is it for the device." @tidbitsIthink this means you legally have to donate to charity this christmas, or you're a scrouge. I,checked with my attorney, or something… Wanted to note the original problem with links again, here is the OnePlus 8T+ Scheduled to get Android 13, redirecting from the Android 12 link. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/software-updates/oneplus-8t-plus-update-to-android-12 Now here is the link for the same thing as it related to the "Hotdogg" variant of the OnePlus 7TPro 5G McClaren Edition. Notice the link is the same, but the redirect is to the Galaxy Fold4 https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/software-updates/oneplus-7t-pro-update-to-android-12 Now, this is the "Hotdogg" variant, and the only source of truth, since this variant is a T-Mobile exclusive, I wanted the correct page when I checked out from T-Mobile after buying the device. Unfortunately, since many members of this community have received phones for free by T-Mobile, it was easier to defend the choice of not updating the phone. The issue is, ultimately, that T-Mobile was responsible, and even when drawing a line in the sand and saying the accountability begins here, it's clear that @HeavenM's prediction will not yield true, and the update will not arrive. At the risk of being a humbug, that stinks. I have been vocal about this since removing the update page was likely a "canary in a coalmine" getting snuffed from someone on your team who wants better for customers. The more that time passes, that feeling rings true. The more time passes we see deadlines get set and crossed. Not that I'm needing an apology, I'm obviously insufferable, but the customers you let down definitely do deserve an apology. Given the device specs, it is completely reasonable to assume the customer would get 2 full OS Upgrades before the device was EoL by the vendor. Top shelf processor and 12gb of RAM but somehow my Surface Duo with 4GB of ram gets updates every single month.Your average customer has no recourse, so I am annoying because I bet those people are annoyed when they figure this all out. Please, if you cannot reliablyprovide information about the update, inform your customers honestly. If the upgrade can't be performed, please say so!Not being able to perform the upgrade is a possible outcome of the development phase, and that honesty would be appreciated given the current situation as comparison. Last coal in the stocking for you is the formal page for updatesdoes not list the OnePlus 7T 5G https://www.t-mobile.com/support/phones-tablets-devices/software-updates That means if you'd like the most up-to-date information from T-Mobile, which is listed above, thenthere is no information currently available. Regardless of forum members feelings about that, it's the user experience, and should be addressed. There used to besomeinformation available, it was taken away, and now it's clear why. I've applied for a support position with T-Mobile but have yet to hear back. I am always focused on the customer and ready to provide support, especially with holiday cheer, if the team is hiring. ¡Felices fiestas!10Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Has ping / tracert been blocked on 5g network?
Hi, I too wish T-Mobile would fix this, and that the issue deserves to be newsworthy! Ihave been having majorissues related to my T-Mobile home internet, primarily devices like home assistants and their accessories thatrely on lower latency to fulfil requests. My Nest Mini now takes on average 10 full seconds to begin loading the response.Beyond that, issues with security since my cameras have increased lag making my doorbell camera less useful, and problems with my DNS not able to properly filter the web. I'm not the only one and neither are any of you: https://community.t-mobile.com/tv-home-internet-7/dns-provider-for-home-internet-38694 Clearly this is an aggressive rollout of provisioning. To report my locale, I'm in the PNW but most of you arein the South/Midweststates like Texas.Well, location doesn't seem to matter IMO as I still have noticed many issues recently, to the timeframe given in this forum, inwhere my web filter has not been able to deny requests properly on one of my home computers.I believeICMP details noted arerelated. Sadly enough, I am JUST learning how to network in college, in my second year and taking classes related specifically to latency and ping... So just wanted to note that I am genuinely affectedby this…My own learning material has me doing these types of ICMP ping requests in Windows, and some posts here are lining up with my college material, but while learning from other members here has been fun, italso means to realize that mylearning just got a lot harder BECAUSE of my ferventinterest in bleeding-edge wireless tech…It doesn't have to be this way! When testing using Fast.com and other methods, I'm anywhere between 50ms and 1.2seconds loaded for latency. While that hasn't been an issue, what's different is that now never reporting the lower number. One second of latency means I can pretty much throw away my Xcloud membership LMAO I have much better results playing using my phone's mobile hotspot. Other tests, like Edge's in-browser utility, no longercanreport latency at all and therefore the program hangs. Just as another user said, it makes it harder for a given person who doesn't know what's going onunderstand what's happening. This issue is compounded when the customers end up calling staff who have no source of truth for information on ping/latency leading to no progress for either party. All in all, this is snowballing quickly and the best action really is to roll back these changes or communicate the incoming fixes. At minimum, progress in this would feel like acknowledging that the official stance isn't that "ping isn't used anymore" by T-Mobile and instead the stance customers want to seewould be closer to working on a solution to the existing latency and ICMP problem for T-Mobile Home Internet users Nationwide. Thanks to other forum members here, I understand now that if I want to continue to effectively filter my web I now need an addition device, a VPN (a hardware solution akin to aPfSense router) between my modem and personal router…and I would rather configure my own hardware like the ASUS modem I had before, but T-Mobile Home Internet does not support other hardware even if I did try and use a hotspot or 3rd-Party 5G Modem. Ireally don't want a bunch of networking equipment at home, I'd wanna leave that for school lol...so it's horrible to see this provisioning and clearly it's basically "love it or leave it" unless we outcry. So I'd like to join you all in a big +1@inductivesoul@iTinkeralot@ShanStewart@Walkabt and ask T-Mobile to sympathize with customers, geeks and nerdy students alike and cool it with the way their locking down these gateways.22Visto3likes0ComentariosRe: One UI 5.0 Stable Release
@ArkDlk You can also use T-Mobile's own "Source of Truth", the tracker for your device! Since this hasn't been shared, I need to let you know that there is a specific page for this exact inquiry. Here is the page for the S22: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/software-updates/samsung-galaxy-s22-series-android-update The good news is that, it's generally only a matter of time! After a device completes testing, it then goes on to complete the development stage before being published. SO the good news is, it's only an amount of time, in most cases... The bad news, but other good news, is that there is no real time frame. We have these stages of development, but software is a fickle thing and it's understandable they'd rather side on shipping working software later than bad software sooner if possible. Sometimes, things don't work out, and ideally if your phone ultimately doesn't get the update, the news would be indicated on the same page. All is to say, that web page is the ultimate answer for your question. I'd recommend using this source of truth for status update as the page will refresh when the update is published. When I updated my OnePlus 8T I knew the update was ready since the webpage refreshed and updated. I also knew something happened when the webpage was later deleted for my OnePlus 7T Plus 5G and I was able to alert users here to the issue. Just wanted to leave you with this webpage since you are being told the same thing I was told, that the blame is based on your device manufacturer, so instead I wanted to give you T-Mobile's own tools for tracking this update so you have a better truth than the word of a forum user. I hope that helps :) If the page goes down, please let T-Mobileknow so you can get an updated time frame for your Android Update. Lastly @tidbitsApple does do slow releases, known as "sever delayed requests" so basicallythis is a strange reply that isn't factually correct. Mostly this reply is trying to tell you it's not T-Mobile's fault. That's why I gave you T-Mobile's own tracker, to show you they have their *own* tracking for their *own* update for their *own* network, as opposed to…. Other carriers which have their own trackers and time-lines for developmentas well. This is obvious as Android 13 is currently on other devices but not T-Mobile devices. That is a very long explanation and I apologize for the amount of detail, but you deserve an honest answer, and I hope that clears things up.10Visto1like0ComentariosRe: oneplus 7t pro McLaren
I thought I'd jump in here and help you since that user Gramps28 responded to me too and knows better than to tell you that it's OnePlus's fault. I have proof. This is intentional. The beta for the OnePlus 7T Pro (Global Variant) is currently under beta, but the fact of the matter is the responsibility of the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McClaren Edition (Tmobile Variant) falls squarely on T-Mobile https://community.t-mobile.com/android-9/t-mobile-retroactively-removes-status-updates-related-to-software-updates-45263 There is a link where I unequivocally proved this, and here is @gramps28trying to spread more misinformation to you the T-mobile Customer despite clearly knowing better. See, lying to you and making this whole thing confusing is a lot more profitable, so that's why the update page was removed from T-mobile's own update tracker, and that's why you haven't got the update despite, likely, being sold the phone on the promise it would receive timely updates. The reason people are upset is because OnePlus has been communicating updates, but T-mobile has been retroactively "dirty deleting" pages related to status tracking the software updates of a given phone. While Heaven "confirmed" this its really not the case, well, clearly what we saw was they removed the page for their customers, and still haven't taken accountability. You should be upset about that, and you should be upset the user that replied to you actually knows better about this issue and mislead you anyways. I hope you review my original post about this issue as comments have been closed, showing T-mobile doesn't want anyone discussing this.23Visto1like0Comentarios
