Re: Home Internet Wi-Fi disconnecting

I have to reboot the gateway once in a while but other than that, no issues!19Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Is there any hope for Home Internet to work in the near future?
My KDV21 gateway worked great for a couple of months last summer. Then in September it became virtually unusable (slow!). I complained to tech support and they told me the same thing they've been telling everyone else - "The tower you connect to is being upgraded." To my surprise, I received an email from TMobile in early November saying that indeed, the tower I connect to most frequently is being upgraded. Just for kicks I drove by the tower a day or two later and there were technicians hanging out by their trucks. I stopped to chat and they were friendly, saying that they were upgrading the tower from LTE to 5G. They said that in a couple of days I should be rocking. Two days later I began getting over 200 Mbpsdownloads and 10 Mbps uploads! So to answer your question, there is hope. But I think you need to be patient, because no one knows TMobile's upgrade schedule.17Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: A possible solution to speed issues (N71 vs N41)

The N41 band can only get an SINRof about 5. Now if I get it turned just right I'll get N71 after a while. SINR of 15, 30 ms ping, 150 down 60 up. Everything works great. I just wish there a few more selections you could make with your gateway. In my area, hands down, I prefer N71 over N41, but it gravitatesto theweaker signal. I get N71 and go as long as I can without a reboot. It turned out that a tower 5 miles south gives me very fast (>100 Mbps down, >20 Mbps up) service. I think that this tower was being worked on when I first got my gateway, so I never tried that side of my house. It's odd that I'm only getting 3 bars of strength, but I don't care as long as it keeps working.35Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Tower upgrades taking weeks to complete?
The tower I originally connected to (1 mile away, line-of-sight) gave me all the speed I needed. Then something happened and my speeds were slower than DSL. I struggled for 3 weeks, called tech support, and finally found the one spot in my house where I can connect to a tower 5 miles away that delivers over 200 Mbps downloads and 10 Mbps uploads, I learned that sometimes you need to connect to a more distant tower (if possible!)to get decent speed.50Visto1like0ComentariosRe: 200 PING
@hanlianhua Your download and upload speeds are similar to mine, and I live in rural Michigan. After a discussion with a technician yesterday, he concluded that the tower I was connecting to (which is about 3 miles away) needed to be repaired. I told him that I occasionally had decent speeds, so he looked deeper into my connection history and found that a few times, probably when weather was optimal, I connected to a tower that is much farther away. So here I sit with terrible speeds until they fix the tower. FWIW, I was in Detroit on Monday and the T-Mobile speed at my hotel was just as bad as it is at home. I think they have widespread tower issues. Hopefully this is just growing pains and they'll sort it out.17Visto0likes0ComentariosA possible solution to speed issues (N71 vs N41)
Some background: My Arcadyan KVD21 gateway became super slow about 3 weeks ago. The config app said that I had good SN, etc, but I was always connecting a slow N71 tower that's a mile or so from my house with clear line-of-sight. Maybe there was an upgrade to this tower or whatever, but when I was originally getting >100 Mbps I was now crawling at a snail's pace. Cellmapper showed another tower on the opposite side of my home, about 3 miles away. No line-of-sight. So I concluded that I need to try to connect to this other tower. Today I located a place in my garage - in front of a window turned 90 degrees away from the tower - and I'm getting N41 with up to 90 Mbps downloads and 30 Mbps uploads! I only hope this continues to work. Hopefully they'llupgrade the N71 tower. My suggestion to those of you who are getting slow speeds is to keep on moving the gateway around and rotating it until you get N41.3.3KViews1like5ComentariosRe: Recent ArcadyanKVD21 Slowdown
You were connecting to the N41 band while in your motorhome, but connecting to the slower N71 band at home. That's likely the primary reason for the speed increase in the motorhome. As to why it's not connecting to N41when you're at home, I don't know. Others here might be able to give you more feedback on whether the power lines are an issue. Thanks for the reply. I've been communicating with the Waveform antenna folks and they don't think that the power lines are a problem. I think you are correct about N71 vs N41. Now the question is how to achieve N41. I've been all over my property and cannot get the gateway to connect to N41, but if I power it up just 1/3 mile away, it works every time. Maybe I need to beg my neighbor to allow me to plug it in inside his garage and then I can run a really long Cat 6 cable to my house….😉24Visto0likes0ComentariosRecent ArcadyanKVD21 Slowdown
I'm recently unable to obtain any meaningful speed from my T-Mobile Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway. When I installed the unit last July, I was achieving downloads of over 200 Mbps and uploads of over 50 Mbps. But during the last few weeks, I'm only getting 5 Mbps downloads and .5 Mbps uploads! The Arcadyan display shows 4 bars of signal and a 5G connection. I have line-of sight to the tower, which is less than 1 mile away (but on the other side of some high-tension power lines). Here are my 5G cellular metrics with the unit in my home: RSRQ = -6 RSPR = -78 SINR = 11 BAND = N71 As I said, I had great speeds just a few weeks ago. Something changed, and I have tried to troubleshoot this with T-Mobile but so far, no results. As a test today, I drove the gateway a short distance in my motorhome and ran some speed tests.I was only 1/3 mile away from my home (but I positioned my vehicle to be on the far side of thehigh-tension power lines) and found the speed to be phenomenal (263 x 73), proving thatthere's nothing wrong with my gateway. Here are my 5G cellular metrics with the unit 1/3 mile away, on the other side of the power lines: RSRQ = 3 RSRP = -79 SINR = 26 BAND = N41 My questions are 1.) Would there be any logical reason for the power lines to suddenly interfere? 2.) Will an external antenna help or would the power lines continue to be a problem? 3.) Is the problem unrelated to the powerlines?188Visto0likes2ComentariosRe: Service issues or flaky gateway?
Did multiple speed tests from phones and laptop. It is just very inconsistent. Some are super fast and can be very slow a few minutes later. Signal on the box is always good or very good. Mine too, but it's been much slower than it was 2 weeks ago, when I was averaging 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps uploads.12Visto0likes0Comentarios
