n41
3 TopicsNot routing on band n41
About a month ago, my HINT stopped passing internet traffic. I checked the status and found that I was now connected on band n41 (always n71 before). I assumed they had upgraded my tower and contacted T-Mobile via Facebook. They confirmed the tower was having maintenance but that "parts were missing." Three weeks later, they said the maintenance was complete. Still no HINT for me. They told me it could take another 10 days for it to start working. Apparently magic was supposed to happen. My Nokia hotspot is still locked on band n41. Signal strength is usually better than -90 but sometimes goes to nothing. When doing a trace route, I get one hop beyond the hotspot, so I'm hitting the tower, and nothing more. I've tried to explain to T-mobile that there seems to be a routing issue with band n41 not getting routedbut they have no understanding of the issue. My cell phone doesn't connect to band n41 and has no internet issues. There's not much left for me to do besides cancel as I've had no service for a month and T-mobile is content to do nothing. I asked for them to escalate the problem or open a new ticket with excuses that equated to "no". I thought I'd check here for any ideas.817Visto0likes7ComentariosArcadyan KVD21 Will not connect to internet on Band N41. N71 works fine
I've called the customer support hotline 4 times in the past two days. I lose all internet when my gateway connects to band N41. If I try to block the signal using stuff like aluminum foil and walls I can get it to reconnect to N71 for a little while, but then it will reconnect itself to N41 again and I'll lose internet all over again. Can we PLEASE get channel/band locking on gateways! I will continue going through warranty replacements, costing T-Mobile money, if yall see no reason not to give customers what we want.443Visto0likes3ComentariosA possible solution to speed issues (N71 vs N41)
Some background: My Arcadyan KVD21 gateway became super slow about 3 weeks ago. The config app said that I had good SN, etc, but I was always connecting a slow N71 tower that's a mile or so from my house with clear line-of-sight. Maybe there was an upgrade to this tower or whatever, but when I was originally getting >100 Mbps I was now crawling at a snail's pace. Cellmapper showed another tower on the opposite side of my home, about 3 miles away. No line-of-sight. So I concluded that I need to try to connect to this other tower. Today I located a place in my garage - in front of a window turned 90 degrees away from the tower - and I'm getting N41 with up to 90 Mbps downloads and 30 Mbps uploads! I only hope this continues to work. Hopefully they'llupgrade the N71 tower. My suggestion to those of you who are getting slow speeds is to keep on moving the gateway around and rotating it until you get N41.3.3KViews1like5Comentarios
