Unreal dropouts and slowed speed on 5g home internet router
Obviously im not the only one who has experienced how awful this service is….but HOLY CRAP. It has gotten progressively worse every month out of the 3 months ive been using it. Backstory - I live in a rural area (columbia river gorge) that is basically in the stone ages since century link does not provide fiber optic just about anywhere within 30 miles. I like to play video games and my (about as slow as my dslwas when I was a teenager in the early 2000s) cable line just wasn't cutting it. The options were tmobile or STARLINK. Since I didn't read any amazing reviews on STARLINK, I decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze (huge up front cost and long wait time FOR HARDWARE for speeds not much higher than what im dealing with) so enter the 5g cell phone tower router. Well...before my connection was throttled I was pleasantly surprised. In game ping was between 80-100 (not good) BUT it was consistent, which is something the cable internet couldn't even come close to. It didn't take long before I started getting throttled out the A$$. Now I cant even use the router for gaming due to the constant dropouts/resets. This is experienced while streaming as well, so no it doesnt have to do with how much im up/down loading. Could be downloading the bare minimum (netflix) and it will dropout/reset multiple times in an hour. There is simply no way for me to report the amount of dropouts due to tmobiles abysmal customer support. This 5g router has at least a dozen dropouts PER DAY. What a joke - I am less than a quarter mile from the antenna (can literally see it from my house at the high school down the street) so we can put the "move it around" test to bed. There is no clearer path to the antenna (which I could probably hit with a baseball from my driveway). The only explanation (which you will never get from tmobile since their customer support is an atrocious joke) is throttling/under gunned antenna network for the amount of users. It sucks to say but this rural area is extremely underserved when it comes to internet. Sure theres enough to "get it done" but that leaves an entire community with connectivity that would have been considered outdated in 2015.323Visto2likes4Comentarios
