Re: Internet service and VoIP
@henry51Thanks for the info, not sure I can get my number ported (which would be a hassle) but I'll check it out. My non-VOIP concerns about the service are my highest priority as I can't assign static IPs impacting my NAS functionality. TMHI must listen and make some changes for advanced users...18Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Internet service and VoIP
Same here as many of you. t-Mobile doesn't support my VOIP (phonepower) service. I can receive calls, but not make outbound calls. Had to upgrade from my OBI200 to make that work, but newGrandstream device only got me inbound calls. Tech support says it's a IPv6 issue and lack of movement from t-Mobile. VOIP isn't the only issue, but the inability to configure static IPs for my network is even worse. Love the 5G service for speed, but half my network needs are now unfulfilled. Will jump t-Mobile as soon as better option is available. Loyalty is earned…17Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: WiFi router sugestions that can use different IP address for Home Internet 5G Gateway

When you plug a router into another router, in this case the one from T-Mobile, most sane routers will switch to a different IP range, generally the 10.x one. This is ok, but can cause double NAT issues and can also provide problems with IPV6. As long as that is not an issue for you, connecting your existing router into a hardwire port on the T-mobile router is the best way to maintain your existing network without making changes and to also maintain any limit controls you have on users. Later, Ralphfur Winchester, OR Major issue with this approach that I am experiencing is that my router being on a different subnet, while working for wi-fi connected devices, does not support my devices connected to my switch (which I'm assuming only sees the t-mobile network).2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: WiFi router sugestions that can use different IP address for Home Internet 5G Gateway

Anybody do Remote Desktop to their home computer from outside? Anybody have a NAS at home they'd like to access from outside? Anybody run Pi-Hole ad blocking for their whole home network? Anybody do preassigned IP addresses for DHCP on their home LAN? Anybody VPN into their home? Anybody do SSH into their home machines? These functions are all supported by even the cheapest home routers. None are supported by the T-Mobile home internet gateway. I'm just about ready to return it, even though the speeds are great. Correct for all the reasons you stated above. I'm now experiencing apparently two years later and it still hasn't been addressed. This is problematic...2Visto0likes0Comentarios
