Re: Modem drops internet service every night
There are a lot of things that can be causing these problems. My first thought is what is your signal strength. In one part of my house it is GOOD and in another it is WEAK. There is an app that I came across a couple of years ago that can track your wifi signal strength. I got it on playstore but have since not reinstalled it on my new phone and don't remember its name. For other reasons do a Google search on "causes for wifi drops" or similar phrases. You may b surprised at some of the reasons why wifi is dropped, especially with older computers.19Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Home internet and wi-fi extender
In talking with a non-T-Mobile employee about setting up P2P and routers, he told me that the routers and extenders must be compatible with T-Mobile. I have several extenders that I used with my network prior to switching over to T-Mobile. I can still use them on the old system but T-Mobile does not recognize them. That may be the issue that you are facing. BTW: I have a reset button on my T-Mobile Gateway. I assume that is what you are referring to. My extenders also have a reset button.12Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: adding router issues
I am setting up a P2P system using EnGenius ENH500 kit. Went through the setup process following a video instruction (the EnGenius instrutions suck). I am about ready to deploy it once I lay some cable to my primary source. There a situation that most instructions and videos don't discuss. If you open a browser and type in the IP for one unit (I call it Primary or Source) and type in its IP address, the unit will not be found by the browser. To make it so that the unit can be found you need to go to Network Settings > Ethernet> and follow whatever path is needed in order to assign a temporary IP for the unit. The process seems tobe different depending on the version of Windows you have. Once you have done the above, then go to your browser and try connecting again. You should get a login screen. Login and setup the unit. Once you have completed the setup process, logout and close your browser 9and network settings if still open). Now repeat the above process for the "Secondary or Receiver" unit. After the second unit is setup, check to see if both units are working and all lights are on. Open te browser and try connecting to a website. If nothing happens, you need to check the "network" to see if DHCP is connected. I got the message DHCP not connected. There was a Troubleshoot link and I clicked on that. It came back with DHCP not connected and had a let Windows fix link. I clicked on that and Windows connected DHCP. If I change computers or routers on the Secondary unit I may have the same DHCP issue but won't know for sure until I deploy the system. Hope this helps. Once I have this issue resolved, I then need to look at using my electrical system for ethernet. I think setting that up will be easier.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: 2.4g devices not connecting to T-Mobile Home Network
This needs to be documented by T-mobile. I have the same issue with some devices that accept 2.4G only. Went through and created a second SSID (see Katiejo123 above). Went to 192.168.12.1 as mentioned by Cat Call but there is no sign-in link and cannot do anything. According to sources 2.4G works best on channels 1, 6 and 11. T-mobile assigned the new SSID to channel 4. The issue of connecting 2.4G devices needs to be resolved. If I attache a separate router that has 5G and 2.4G, to the device I can then connect my 2.4G devices. BUT this should not be the case.59Visto2likes0Comentarios
