Re: Latest Gateway Firmware Discussion
@Timsw I had not received the '1609' update either. I contacted support via Twitter direct message @TMobileHelp. They attempted to push it and it failed. I power cycled the router and they pushed it again...successfully. Time will tell if it helps. My point is that by contacting support I was able to get the firmware update.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: How to improve speed?
If you are getting a consistent 300Mbps down, consider yourself fortunate. I am please with anything over 30Mbps (Some days around 100Mbps)as I moved from a DSL line of 1.5Mbps down and 0.28 Up. (And that was advertised not actual.) If you are finding you need more speed than 300Mbps, I would recommend a fiber connection.4Visto2likes0ComentariosLocating Cell Towers - Has the process changed?
Previously I used the CGI number from the Cell Tower Connection Metrics in the Home Internet App to located my tower on Cellmapper. (drop the first six digits (i.e. 310260) and divide the remaining by 256.) Doing this with a current CGI number I find a tower in Florida while I am in the midwest. Is this changing with the update of the towers to support 5g?3.3KViews0likes2ComentariosRe: tmobile home internet speed issues
For the past few days I have been seeing poor performance. I noticed the Primary Signal was bouncing between B2, B66 and B41. Rarely the secondary connects to B71. Somewhere here in the Community or on Facebook I saw a post where someone moved the gateway to the basement where the cellular signals were not as strong. In his case he seemed to lock on the 5G signal and stay there. I did this yesterday afternoon and for the first time in 5 days it appears to have stayed locked on 5G (B41). The point is that it may be necessary to move the unit around to find NOT THE STRONGEST signal, but the best signal. In my case the 4G Band 2 often was very slow. With the unit in the basement, it has stayed on B41 for more than a few hours. Time will tell.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: When will 'advanced' features for the new gateway be available?
Log into the web interface. Select network. Step through the SSIDs in 2..4 and 5. Look for the setting "Enable SSID". Turn each of these off. I think 1, 5, and 9 are on by default. Make sure you click on save for each SSID you change. This should turn off the wifi. Good luck.3Visto0likes0Comentarios
