Re: How do I stay on n41 band on my trash can?
Like you I read somewhere but can't recallwhere, thepurpose of the battery is to preserve settings and not to provide full function. Supposedly you can move the device around and watch the signal quality bars for the best location and orientation. I think in readingnumerous posts on the subjectit is pretty well established the number of bars is not a worthwhile indication of signal quality or strength. In fact the few times I have had three bars rather than the normal two, I had a poorer signal.5Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: How do I stay on n41 band on my trash can?
I got 0338 about the same time. Haven't had the authentication bug running Chrome on Android 10, Chrome Book and Win 10. But your fix is good to know in case I see that in the future. As to resets; I get different results using the app vs the off switch. Sometimes using the app reset, it doesn't "take" and I go hit the button and pull the plug for good measure. That's why I think a smart switch or simple mechanical timer probably would not accomplish much. I mentioned performance slowly improving. It's not so much download speed, in fact they are lower. The real improvement seems to be less speed loss during "prime time". For my use (I don't game or move a lot of data) 50-100 down and 10 or so up keeps me happy. I think they are still tweaking the towers.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: How do I stay on n41 band on my trash can?
It appears on cell mapper I am on anintersection of n41 and n71 in a highly congested area. Add to that there appears to be continued tuning of towers in my area even though TM Support said upgrades in my area would be complete at the end of January. The n41 and n71 switching may just be the current nature of the beast, Overall my experience with the trashcan has been one of slow improvement over the last four months I havehad it. I can live with occasional resets but wish I could automate them to occur in offline hours. I assume the built-in battery would preclude that possibility.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: best streaming device
I use Roku,Amazon Fire stick, Google Chromecast with Google TV, T-Vision Hub and Air TV mini. Got them ( some were free) just to see which was the best. My favorite is the Chromecast with Google TV as it has TV Input selection built in. All the streaming services all work well with the "trashcan". Amazon Prime TV is buggy sometimes, but on their end.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: 2.4 Ghz Signal Keeps Dropping
I separated the 2.4 and 5 networks from day one using TM'stutorial and GUI 192.168.12.1. I have numerous smart switches, Wyze cameras, and Alexa echo devices all running on 2.4. Around 30 devices total. My 2.4 network is of course slower than my 5 network, but fast enough and often fails less. My problem is random download speed reductions that necessitate a trashcan reset when it decides to switchfrom band n41 to n71. When this happensthe devices on the 5 network error message, buffer, etc while the 2.4 network devices usually hang in there. If your 2.4 and 5 network are combined (as your trashcan was delivered), separate them. I'm not buying the "max 10 devices story".6Visto1like0Comentarios
