Re: Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway?
I can only compare it to the Nokia trashcan. I had installed the four MIMO antennas and I'm getting about the same download speeds with the 5688 as is. Like the Nokia, you have to find the sweet spot to place it, including turning it a few degrees at a time. I'm betting B66/N71 where with the Nokia I was on B2/N71. I'm hoping Nater Tater will come out with a vide on adding external antennas, I'm not brave enough to try to open the case myself.11Visto1like0Comentarios- 27Visto0likes0Comentarios
Re: Horrendous Download vs. Awesome Upload Speeds
Doing a speed test in the middle of the night should give you an idea of what the system is capable of when there are few users on. Network congestion seems to be the biggest limiting factor for me. At night I've seen 25 down and 45 up. During the day, it can drop to 2 down and 30 up.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: VPN
I should have waited a couple of days to reply. I started noticing that there were websites that I couldn't access by computer or phone so I cancelled Surfshark. It too about a week for them to agree to cancel and will take 7-10 business days for the credit to show up on my card.23Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Slow home internet even with extender
Have you looked at Nater Tater's Youtube videos? There is some great info available there. I went with the 4 antenna MIMO setup and it works pretty well. We're about nine miles from the tower. The best time to check speeds is the middle of the night to see if network congestion is slowing your speeds down or if you have an antenna issue. TMHI isn't pefect for me but the alternative is Hughesnet, which we already tried.15Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Identifying network and band in use on Inseego MIFI m2000
Yep, you're right. I should have stuck with "30 Megs" and everyone would have been on the same page. Your comments are spot on. We're in the boonies so low band 5G or LTE will be what we have for a while. We're just grateful that we can get T-M service and were able to drop satellite internet. But I would like to be able to confirm that we're on the 600 MHz service when we're on 5G so if anyone finds out what N zero means, please post on here.34Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Identifying network and band in use on Inseego MIFI m2000
I've had similar issues with the band N0 (zero), would like to know what band it's on when we're on 5G. Most likely it's 600 MHz N71, the low band 5G. We are in the boonies and don't get the higher speed higher frequency 5G bands here. There doesn't seem to be much difference in speed between LTE and 5G for us. I use a couple of speed tests, speedof.me and speedtest.net both seem to work OK. I did move the hot spot around in several places in the house to get the best signal. I use the dB reading on the hot spot from the computer instead of using the bars. It seems to work OK with three bars but four is better of course. We get a reading of -94 dB and a s/n of 16 or so and it gives us 10 to 30 MB down, five to 10 up with very low latency, around 50-80 ms.21Visto1like0Comentarios
