loyalty means squat
Been a customer over 25 years. Had a dying I phone six. Three months ago went into a retail location and was told my phone has no trade in value and I would have to pay full price for a new phone and no other options. Basically being shamed for having a old phone. I tried again today to get a new phone and was told the same both times, you can see a sign saying new phone on us in the window. The new phone only applies i I had a iPhone 7 or better mine was a six. And if your a new customer you can get the deal. I told the representative about my loyalty for many years and he grinned. He told me I could get a deal if I go to another carrier. He was right. I'm really disappointed in the customer service and recommendations to switch carriers. I've been a customer longer then the age of any people in the location that day. These kids were sucking on popsicles when I was a loyal customer. The grin sealed the deal. Loyalty obviously has no reward but to get told to move on. I'm 60 years old and will be using a cell phone for maybe 20 more years. And that's twenty years of payment's I won't be making to T Mobile. Sad day. Get your priorities strait when dealing with loyal paying customers before you loose more like me.
Regards. Disappointed customer

The reason your phone is dying us that it lacks 3 bands for LTE. 12,66 and 71. Those are 3 main bands for LTE and why there's no trade in value.
Personally, I've never traded in a phone and the last 2 phones I purchased to use on Tmobile were at Best Buy. You can try checking with them for any alternate promos they may have going and you can use Tmobile's EIP program.

The only alternative was to pay full price for a new phone period

Like I previously posted check out Best Buy. I bought my last 2 Pixel's from them and didn't pay full price.
