Previous Data Breach Settlement notice
Received a text from Kroll Settlement Administration LLC (406 201 8925) talking about the settlement of previous data breach. Is this true?
It's about $50. I post a link in another thread about Keller Postman.

I noticed that text message yesterday and decided to call T-Mobile today because it seemed suspicious. I looked at the FAQ section on their site and found the following strange…
https://www.t-mobilesettlement.com/home/faqs2/
22. Where can I get more information?, at the very end of stating who you can contact, it states, “Please do not contact the Court, its Clerk, or T-Mobile.”
Hmmm…
Well, I called them (T-Mobile) and the representative told me I did the right thing because they don’t know anything about it, and they would have sent me a letter in the mail, and not a text message.

There's a P. T. Barnum quote that sums this up perfectly
Which P.T. Barnum quote? Is it "There's a sucker born every minute." It seems that one is attributed to him, yet I don't want to make any assumptions.
That part of the FAQ really stood out to me though. Heh heh.

Yeah, its legit but its BS. The lawyers get all the money and the victims get a pittance. they get 30% of $350 million and we get $50. Who Hoo! This is especially disturbing if your info is on the dark web yet has not been used for identity theft and later when this suit is over it is used. It should never end. If your data is used they should pay, for the rest of your life. Don't take the money if you haven't yet had your identity stolen. Its the only way you can sue later.

Do you honestly believe that if you were eligible to get paid in a lawsuit that they would notify you in a text message? Come on. Don't be so gullible

I just called the company listed on the link... I looked them up and called then to try and get verbal information... Its not the law firm. The company listed is just a phone service company and they don't know much.. The law firm is supposed to in the link.. They did say we can fill out some additional forms if we have any other losses we can PROVE... I did not expect this.. Its a good thing for all us involved .. Just don't wait till its to late.... I had to change my life around for a few months because my SS number was taken and allot of other little things that just made life HELL to deal with and fix.. I hope it works out for everyone and not to many people got there info hacked like i did

I did a Google search, however, I decided to contact T-Mobile because I didn’t trust that it was legitimate information.
I like to ask questions if I am uncertain. The T-Mobile representative told me she didn't know anything about it.

I've had T-Mobile for nearly twenty years and they've never failed to notify me about an anticipated action. Given that people say T-Mobile is unaware when contacted, I'd rather risk losing the $50 than risk my data being compromised even further.

It is a fraud, do not click any link from that message, I got the following message from 770-273-0561, so I decided to call T-Mobile first to find out what is going on. Rep told me that this is not how they handle settlement, usually it will be a short message or a letter from the mail.
DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK, JUST DELETE THAT MESSAGE, BE SAFE, AND SHARE THIS TO T-Mobile's 😊

Pueden aplicarse cargos de datos y mensajes.Oh, ok. I thought that maybe the T-Mobile representative that I spoke to may have not known. Yet, you said you were told the same thing. Thank you for confirming that I wasn't the only one told this.
Considering that this is about a data breach, I felt kind of skeptical about receiving a text message regarding it. Just seemed like a strange way to go about it. However, it seems most here trust that it is legitimate due to the sources they've read online. Do as thou will…
