So is Android 12 ready for the OnePlus 7T pro McLaren yet??? Been waiting all year… my phone's starting to do weird things.
You Too! I noticed that as well. I thought I'd was my internet but nope. Lags, freezes, response issues. Incoming Call and WiFi hearing issues. This phone was great at first but updates started coming out for other phones os and T-Mobile is still playing around. At this rate they should just skip 12 and boost us to 13. Makes no sense for T-Mobile to send out 12 when it's been out since 2021 already and feets are dragging this long. Only reason why I haven't tried rooted and replaced is stability, camera function, and encryption. Any solutions or options since we might not be getting an update?
BTW I've got the 7TPro. McLaren edition
Hey all! I know everyone is looking on a clear-cut expectation of when the Android 12 update is coming. I did some digging and was able to get confirmation that development work is still being done and expected release is December 2022.
I know that is still a while away, and if you are having issues now, that may not be the most helpful. We have some other troubleshooting things that can be done in order to fix software hiccups like you are seeing. Before I start making suggestions, what steps have you already taken to try and resolve the issues you are seeing? @TCBelly @ZetaRayZed13
Some devices can slow down over time. This isn't so much update related as it is app data and cached data that builds up over time. The easiest way to get your device feeling snappy again is with a factory reset after backing up your photos, contacts, and anything else you wouldn't want to lose.
Although I don't have a 7T Pro McClaren on my desk. My girlfriend's OnePlus 7 Pro, which is still on Android 11 still feels almost as snappy as the day she got it. My 7 Pro is in the box and hasn't been used since the beta for Android 11 FUT testing. The lack of slowdown over time is why my girlfriend still uses the 7 Pro. Her prior device was a Samsung S9+.
The OnePlus 8T+ 5G I mostly use felt the snappiest on Android 11 although still feels quite fast on Android 13. It did feel a bit sluggish on Android 12 and the issues with Android 12 had me roll it back to Android 11 until the Android 13 beta 1 was released. My device is actually still running the Android 13 beta 1 and is almost as snappy as it was on Android 11.
Neither of us use a lot of apps though, no social media apps at all on our devices, and yet they still perform well compared to today's flagship devices. Even if you don't notice any slowdown or performance issues with your device after years of use. A factory reset is still always recom mended after every major OS update.
