Error 081
I keep getting Error 081. I'm 15 feet from the modem for wifi calling. How do I fix this?
Getting any error message is annoying, but one when you try to make a call is the worst! A couple things to check. What results do you get when you do a speed test while connected to your wifi? Do you know if you get the same error message if you are connected to a different wifi network? Wifi calling depends on your e911 address for emergency services and if it is not entered or not correct, it can prevent all phone calls from going through. Here are the steps on how to double check your e911 address: Updating profile information. After making sure that information is correct, restart the gateway and your phone.
If you are still getting that error after completing those steps, here are a few other things to try.
- Make sure phone and gateway are fully updated on software and firmware.
- Remove any routers or mesh networks that are connected and connect your phone directly to the gateway and then try again.
- The default network is dual band 2.4 and 5 GHz. Create a new wifi network with just 2.4 GHz and try again and you can do the same for creating one with just 5GHz.
You may not have to do ALL of these things, but there are many options to make sure that you get the resolution you need. 馃榿
