Mobile Phone Hotspot not letting me play multiplayer games
xborkx wrote:Hello, so I just started using my Mobile Phone Hotspot to play video games on my laptop(League of Legends, Apex Legends, Battlefield) and initially I had no issues. It was working, but now that I got more speed so I won't lag, my multiplayer games won't connect. My hotspot works, but it's not communicating with video game servers. I looked into it and apparently it deals with porting but that was a few months ago. My games were working just a few weeks ago and now wont connect just recently. Is there a fix or a setting I can do?
It sounds like a frustrating issue, especially since it was working fine before. The problem you're describing with your hotspot not communicating with game servers could indeed be related to port forwarding or network settings. Here are a few steps you can try:
-
Check Mobile Carrier Restrictions: Some carriers limit or block certain ports needed for online gaming. Reach out to your carrier to confirm if they have implemented any new restrictions.
-
Restart Devices: Restart your mobile device, laptop, and the games you're trying to play. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary issues.
-
Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that your laptop’s firewall or antivirus software isn’t blocking the games from connecting to the servers.
-
Redirección de puertos: Look into the required ports for each game you're playing (League of Legends, Apex, etc.) and configure port forwarding if your carrier allows it.
-
Try a VPN: Some players have found that using a VPN helps with hotspot connectivity for gaming, as it can bypass certain carrier restrictions.
