December update and feature drop for Pixel 9
- Hace 10 dÃas
My guess is the 10th. The updates are usually released on a Tuesday.
T-Mobile has no impact on when those updates arrive. They come directly from Google.
Not true. Those who bought the pixel unlocked from Google already have the update with the feature drops. If phone is locked Google pushes the update to the carriers then the carrier pushes to us. Such a joke.

That isn't how it works. You can check the source of where your update comes from by capturing the link for it when your device gets it. Not all devices get uodates at the same time to prevent bugs that slip past QA from affecting too many people.

I've had a pixel 4a direct from Google and never had to had wait. I get what you are saying but if you go to Reddit all of T-Mobile users are complaining they haven't gotten it yet others have not on T-Mobile. So the bottle neck is TMO. Not us waiting for QA.

Davidoo is mostly wrong. Most updates do not require any testing by the carriers. The updates that do, are done during the beta, just like the betas everyone else can sign up for. Modem/Radio tweaks are done during beta phases. These are sent to the manufacturer and oackaged in the update that the manufacturer releases.
The exceptions to this is, when there's a major issue with a specific carrier, which is rare. Google and T-Mobile have worked incredibly close since thebdays of the G1. T-Mobile uses the stock versions of VoLTE, VoNR, and WiFi Calling developed by Google. AT&T does have deals with some manufacturers, like Saung, to have those updates placed on a hosted link on AT&T's servers to restrict updates for their variants to the AT&T network. This is why we devices purchased from AT&T will not get updates when those devices are not used with an AT&T SIM.

This is also false. I bought my Pixel outright from Google 100% unlocked. I just got the update yesterday. T-Mobile 100% has control over whether or not this gets pushed to their phones. That is why there is a specific T-Mobile build on the Pixel OTA website. Something didn't work right with the universal update, they sent it back to Google, Google, fixed it and pushed out a new update for T-Mobile which T-Mobile accepted and pushed out to their phones.
