strange home screen icon?

I recently received a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy A32 5G phone. It's running Android v11.

There's an icon at the top left of the home screen, next to the clock, which I don't recognize. Searches of the manual and the Web haven't helped.

Does anyone know what it indicates?
