refer a friend nightmare
so I had two friends switch over to tmobile within the last month and I tried to do the Refer A Friend program but I kept getting a error message stating I need a qualified account. Per the program terms and conditions I thought it stated the following... however I was told because I have a payment arrangement that disqualifies me. I don't think that's far I was part of hurricane Irma and I cant help I need an arrangement at least my account isn't suspended. who can I call about this? Do anyone have corporate number? I really don't think this is right.
Términos y condiciones del programa
Oh okay, I see what you mean. I think it's how it's worded. "In good standing" wouldn't include an account that's past due and I'm sorry if we didn't clarify that for you. I wish I could help but we don't have a workaround for this if the account is past due. If the number you're trying to refer hasn't been activated an account with us yet, there's still a once the account is in good standing. Looking at the page, as long as the referral is submitted at least 24 hours before they activated with is, you'd still be able to get the referral.

We certainly want you to take advantage of this program @ericade3082 . Was this something someone told you over the phone or did you get an email about this after you submitted for the Programa Recomienda a un amigo I'm just seeing that the account needs to be in good standings in order to opt for the referral.

yes I was told this over the phone after they had to put in a ticket to see why it wouldn't let me do it through MyTmobile account. Right and that's all I see and they said good standings is not past due and etc which makes no sense to me. That's why I don't think its right. @tmo_mike_c

This program is not designed to benefit anyone but T-Mobile.
T-mobile has no intentions of paying you or any one a referral after your friends new line in initiated.
This is a dubious program with no merit, and I suggest a letter should go out to the secretary of state where you reside to explain there never was an intent on the part of T-mobile to pay a rebate. It is ashame a company this large would deceive people, but possibly actions like this are what has made them such a large corporation.

I had the same problems trying to refer my daughter to T-Mobil. Spent over an hour chatting with the online chat service was transferred to a manager for about 45 minutes and all they said was I could call the customer service line. my account is setup for automatic payments, and I have been a customer over two years, so my account is in good standing. I think it's a sham.

It is a Scam!! Sad! I've been a customer since 2002. Loyalty doesn't seem to matter to them anymore.

Same happened to me. I was referred by my sister. I said that while setting up my account. I was told that I had to wait until after my account was complete and my numbers were switched over. Then after that, I called again and was told I had to tell them while setting up the account. After the account is completed, I could not get my sister the referral. I don't think anyone that works for T-Mobile is trained how to help the customers. Or they lose a commission if they give the referral bonus to an existing customer. I tried pre-setting my referral status at their refer a friend site link, that T-Mobile gives on their main page, and it goes to a no site message. They don't give a referral bonus. It's not real.
