No 5G service In Ultra 5G Coverage area
My wife and I signed up on 8/20/22. I checked and my residence is in the middle of a 5G ultra zone, but I have yet to get 5G at home on my iPhone12. The best is LTE with 2 bars, but mostly only 1 bar. I have had several conversations with TM (phone and chat) and I get a different answer every time it seems. what I hear most is don’t worry, we are so sorry, we understand, or no worries. Those responses are all BS. I have been told there are upgrades taking place, others have told me there are repairs taking place, but no one will tell me when the problem will be fixed.
We came to TM from AT&T because of the 55+ pricing, but I have since discovered that I can get nearly as good a deal with a military veteran discount back at AT&T. Which is where we will be heading in the next few days, unless TM gets it head out of you know where.
What I just want is reliable 5G service in a zone that is supposed to have it.

Also, the phone has a brand new SIM card installed by the agent at the TM store where we enrolled. And I do get 5G outside of my coverage area (east Sacramento, CA neighborhood).
Is there anything I can check on my end? One chat line agent did mention a work order number that was opened on 8/03 and still has not been closed. Is there any way to determine what that work order says?

Have you run a speed check? 5G is not necessary for fast service. Also, some phones show "5G" when they're really connected to LTE and some show LTE/4G when 5G is actually available.
Check CellMapper.net for unbiased crowd-sourced coverage data. If there are lots of red spots around where you live there may be a problem. CellMapper is a bit techie and it covers carriers globally but if you can figure it out, it has a wealth of information.

Sorry can't figure it out. It is all Greek to me. What I see are 2 towers (I think) within 2 miles of my location, and one red spot with an x in it 4 blocks away. I have no idea what to do with this information.

i would guess the red spot with an x either means there was a tower there and now there is not or that the tower there is having issues.
