The phone was probably jailbroke and once it was erased it was set back to the original software and the block was reapplied.
The phone was probably sold on the Grey market.

Nope. You need to be a customer of Tmobile to be eligible for an unlock code.
I have exactly the same problem. I bought the xr two months ago TT
I'm from Chile, I bought it on alixpress. And I really don't understand why it has a block from this company, if it was brand new.
my question is
If I contract the international SPRINT service. Will I have any chance of help?please¡¡
Morale if this story only buy a verified unlocked iPhone from a trusted seller especially if it's a USA carrier.

The fact is that the phone was purchased in a store in Belarus in 2019, my brother used it, there were no problems until yesterday.
Yesterday they decided to erase it and it turned out that it is tied to Sprint, the store no longer exists and as a result the phone can be thrown away?
