Nokia 5G21 Gateway: How to set to 802.11?

I have a device that requires the 802.11b standard in order to connect.

Do I have to change a setting to enable this?

Gracias

  • The IEEE 802.11 wireless standard is written to be backward compatible. If you cannot get the client to connect given it is such an old wireless adapter only supporting "b" then you can login as admin and go into the 2.4 GHz SSID 1 and set it to operate as 802.11b. Of course you also need to know the authentication type that client requires which is probably WPA or WEP and also set the authentication type so the client can authenticate. Setting to allow WPA/WPA2 should work. With the Nokia you can easily use SSID 2 to add another SSID network and authentication for the legacy client and leave SSID 1 as is.

My take is you would be better off just buying a USB WIFI adapter and updating the adapter so it can have better connectivity. It would be pretty inexpensive to pick up an 802.11ac adapter. If you have any driver issues with the old network adapter then you might need to pick up a newer adapter anyway.
