2.4g devices not connecting to T-Mobile Home Network

Yall are making this WAY harder than it has to be.
1. Open the T-mobile Internet app
2. Go to the Network tab at the bottom
3. Click on the "+" sign to add a network
4. Add in the information for a 2nd network and change the frequency band to 2.4 GHz.
Done. Easy. Now you have 2 networks and 1 is 2.4 only. I had to figure this out myself as this thread was trash.
I created a 2.4 settings network like the screenshot above and reset modem and phone afterwards. Do I need to change the original settings from 5 and 2.4 automatic to 5 only? I didn't want to change the original settings unless this was necessary. I also have the Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway if that makes a difference or not.
