Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. The Hidden switch you spoke of was already disabled so that wasn't the problem.
As it turns out, I needed to find the latest driver for the wireless adapter as the manufacturer (intel) dropped support at the end of last year and they didn’t provide a download site to at least see what the latest driver version is before ending support.
Luckily, I went to the intel community forum and found a retired gentlemen who had in his personal possession (One Drive) the latest driver for it. I installed it and now I can connect to the T-Mobile 5G network.
