Replace lost mobile phone while abroad while using E-SIM from T-Mobile
I am currently abroad and was worried if I lose my phone, how can I replace it while not in the US. Can I buy a new unlocked phone and sign-in with my T-Mobile account to reactivate it ?
Any advice would be welcome :)

You'd need to contact T-Mobile and be on WiFi and it should activate. Not 100% sure as with the actual physical sims they have to be in country of origin to activate as the phone will connect to network first and activate from the network.

The whole question of if you can do a SIM swap while abroad has never (AFAIK) been tested. If you need to contact T-Mobile about an international roaming issue, you should call +1-505-998-3793. From a T-Mobile phone this is a free call. From other phones it's international. If you have WiFi you can use Google Voice, Skype Out, etc.
