Lease and Buyout payments

I have one phone that I purchased and making the payments on, there are 4 left. Why am I also paying a lease payment on the same phone?

I have two other phones, one was transferred to my husband and I am paying a lease on that, why? As well as my daughters paying a lease on that. They are older than 3 years old.
