This is a common problem, and I don't know of a solution. I have noticed that I usually see most of my devices immediately after rebooting the gateway. I have never looked into scheduling so I don't know if I could schedule them at that time, and if so, would it stick? If this is a deal breaker, you might need to attach a Wi-Fi router/access point to your gateway.
T-Mobile if you are reading this: Please give customers more options in the browser (192.168.12.1). You dumbed it down way too much.
