So it is now February 2023 and they still have not fixed this? I just got mine yesterday and how am I supposed to track down 30 devices? My phone is 11d4. Where did they get that from?

The last 4 of the MAC Address

Thanks! Now do you know if it is possible to name my devices?

  • @TwinMama1418 have you checked out the Web Gateway UI?  There is a Gateway information section that lists the name. If you can get to that section, see if you have an option to change the name there. If not, there may not be an option.

Have you tried changing the device's name in settings on the device itself I know I was able to do it with my phone

Cleary T-mobile is not prioritizing this issue. T-mobile needs to get with the program.Verizon reps show up at my door every month now that Verizon wireless internet is in my neighborhood. As much as I dislike Verizon, I need more granular, and more security control over my devices.

The phone app will not handshake with the T-mobile router  (on newer, higher end phones), so I can't even see device names. The web interface on a computer is terrible. It shows only the número of devices connected, no names, no individual entries for them, just a summary of  X Wifi and X LAN connections.

How am I know that the all the Wifi connected devices (family phones, laptops, printers, security cameras, etc) that are connected are even mine, or which are which?

  • Adding my vote that this is a KEY security issue I'm not super happy about. I want to know what's on my network is mine, and that's hard when I'm playing guessing games with all my family's devices MAC addresses rather than just being able to NAME an approved iPad! It's 2024, this feels like it should be a standard safety feature!
