Change voicemail pin message

Got this text - on hold at T Mobile now. I made no such request.

Your new Voice Mailbox PIN has been set to XXXX. For new users, access your voicemail with a long-press "1" on your keypad. If you did not request this change, please contact Customer Care immediately by dialing 611

  • Per tech support ( I had a long conversation), it is wise to change your voicemail pin using your phone. Online help also advises turning on your pin. Normally it isn't required when you check voicemail using your own phone. Long press 1 on your phone keypad. Listen to the prompts.

  • Received exact same text message at 3:28AM local time from “129” short code sender.

On hold for over an hour.

Thanks for posting you received it.

*update* support was able to confirm over the phone that no one called in to try to change my VM pin.  I also asked him to check log files he has access to. So far he can not see anyone digitally or via phone tried to access my account in last 24 hours.

To be proactive on an iPhone (if you want to change your VM Pin), go to Settings > Phone > Change Voicemail Password (towards the bottom).  It will ask you for a new 4 digit PW and to confirm it.
