How to access from second ethernet port to home network on the first ethernet port
- Hace 2 años
Your T-Mobile gateway will give a 192.168.12.x address to your Asus Router for it's WAN port using DHCP, you can also manually assign an address so it is always constant, won't change. To get your laptop to talk to your devices on the Asus wireless router you will need to add a route statement in your laptop for network 192.168.50.0/24 via Asus Router WAN IP address 192.168.12.x
@AngelaK Thanks, that works and it's safer than my alternative. Your approach allows for all of my devices to stay behind the router while only the desktop exposing to the internet. My alternative approach that's also working is setting my Asus to be the "Access Point". This way, my Asus and all devices connected to it are on 192.168.12.x subnet. However, this causes Asus to turn off all Firewall protection.
