poor signal in mountains
The best I can get is 2 bars(weak) anywhere in my yard. Is it a lost cause or would an antenna help? A booster up in a tree or something? I'm clueless and if T Mobile doesn't work I have to stick wit...

I would recommend finding where your closest tower is (use the locator tool), and attempt to avoid anything between your device and the tower. Also, use the devices 'metrics' stats to assist with the 'weak' stating. Where I am, rotating the device can cause signal to go from 'very good' to 'weak'.
How far away is the tower (i.e. can you see it?)
