Why does the hotspot on my phone have more download speed than my gateway? I think I have equipment failure and tec support wants to ignore me. Example streaming tv gateway will start buffering constantly. I can switch to the hotspot on my phone and no more buffering and I'll have a better picture. This has been happening for about two weeks, prior to that no problems.
any suggestions?
TMHI is the lowest priority traffic on their cell towers, your phone the highest. A lot of areas have been oversold and are experiencing low data rates at peak tower usage times.

Agreed. I had the same problem a while back and was told that mobile traffic was prioritized over home internet. They've recently upgraded tower in my area and I think it could probably be better by now, but I already returned the gateway device and cancelled home internet.
Dropped Infinity/Comcast to save $40/mo. Bad move. Same issues with varying speeds and dropped internet service. Told the same story regarding working on towers. Nothing but ongoing issues with home devices (Wemo/Deco/Alex's). Infinity now has a competitive rate so will be dropping TM and going back to Infinity/Comcast.
