SSH
3 Topicscan't use ssh connections when i'm using the hotspot
whenever i connect my laptop to my phone's mobile hotspot, i can never get these to work: ssh connection to my AWS environment running apt-get update / yum updates on my Ubuntu distro embedded in my Windows 10 laptop installing anything via Mac Terminal on my Macbook Pro, such as RVM / NVM / wget calls / telnet calls, etc the most common error i get in all the above use-cases is some variant of a "Network is unreachable" error message anyone else run into this issue? These issues defeat the point of paying for mobile hotspot since i have to be able to actually work using the hotspot : )390Visto1like1ComentarioSolving CGNAT problems?
AFAICT my T-Mobile Internet router connects to a CGNAT DMZ, and every time I connect to a networkservice I do so from what appears to that service to be a different IP4 address. There seem to be exceptions, however, for some known protocols - I've had an SSH session up for several consecutive days. So one CAN obtain a static IP address for things like VPNs and SSH, but the protocol has to be well-known. Therefore, questions: Is there an IPV4 packet flag that says "this session needs a static IP address" to routers along the way? Routers are already reading the port assignments in order to determine "oh, that's SSH, better make this static." Is there a packet flag one can set? If I turned off IPV4 and just used IPV6 would the CGNAT DMZ provide a static address, since I wouldn't need to be sharing IPV4 addresses any more?842Visto0likes2ComentariosT-Mobile NOK 5G21 Gateway and SSH/PuTTY
I hooked up the T-Mobile NOK 5G21 (Gray Cylinder/ "trash can") gateway, loaded the most recent firmware, and all was going relatively smoothly until someone in my family tried to use SSH/PuTTY. After having established a connection/session,about 5 minutes later, he saw a dialog pop up with a title that said "PuTTY Fatal Error" and a message that said "Network Error: Software caused connection abort". He had been using Spectrum service through a Netgear R8000P router with no problems. Has anyone had similar issues or does anyone know how to fix this problem?538Visto0likes1Comentario
