10 Topics5g home internet - some sites won't load
My big gray cylinder 5G Home internet has good signal and works reliably. But some percent of websites I visit simply refuse to load via the TMo 5g device, yet they work fine if I use my Verizon cellphone data, or a coaxial cable modem (which I have not canceled service on yet). I am guessing it's either a DNS issue between my Mac and the T-Mobile cylinder (eg: settings requiring technical help or updates), or a problem in the T-Mo network that is blocking some sites. After spending too many hours on the phone already with Tmo tech support for 5G Home, I am not excited about the prospect of engaging on the phone again. It takes too long, and the agents need more training and support. Has anyone experienced and solved this issue? Do you have technical insights? Is there actual written documentation somewhere that I could access? Thank you. (Honestly Tmo, you need to rethink your support infrastructure for 5G Home.)11KViews4likes80Comentariostmobile data limits scam

I have been having issues with Tidal streaming on my Samsung S24 since February '24. I have determined that the data that Tidal is using to stream music is being recognized as "hotspot data" by T-Mobile. Each carrier billing cycle the T-Mobile system sends me a message stating I have hit my hotspot data cap. At that time Tidal becomes extremely slow and encounters buffering issues. All of my other applications work perfectly fine, I have unlimited data with my T-Mobile plan (Magenta Max55+), but for some reason, Tidal is using hotspot data or its data usage is being miscategorized as hotspot data. On my phone hotspot data usage reported is 0GB month over month. I never use my hotspot. Something weird is going on here, I am not sure if it is on the Tidal side in how it requests data or on the T-Mobile. I need help in having this issue investigated and escalated to the appropriate parties (Either at Tidal, T-Mobile, or maybe even Samsung). I have attempted to inform T-Mobile but they their phone support seems ill-equipped to handle uncommon technical problems. I am not sure if this will ever be resolved. I suppose in T-mobiles eyes this would be like a "P4" priority. Unless there is some security risk involved I doubt they will care. I have post paid 3 line Go5G Plus plan with T-mobile paying $170 per month. Since May 25th one of the lines stopped connecting to internet and after reporting this issue with T-mobile there is no resolution for more than 3 days. I have wasted more than 10 hours talking to customer support and their technical support with no resolution. Internet access is very critical in today's world and service provider should be accountable for disruption like this when there is no natural disaster.37Visto0likes0ComentariosT-Mobile, Please read this! High Speed Gateway Problems!
I had the original LTE Gateway and it was decent. Upgraded to the High Speed Gateway and even though my speeds and general connectivity are better, there is something seriously wrong with the Home Internet Service. Why are a lot of the settings and features that were in the original Gateway not available on the new 5G Gateway? My biggest issue is the fact that my Google Home Devices do not want to connect or stay connected once they are! I only have a Mini, Insignia speaker, Lenovo clock, Google TV, and one smart bulb. A lot of the time, the devices show connected but don't work. It takes a lot of effort to even get them all connected. I've even tried changing the security to WPA/WPA2 + TKP (SP?) as recommended for older devices that may not see your network. All my devices see the network and even connect but there is a major issue with the Gateway or Home Internet service that won't allow them to connect properly or stay connected. Very disappointed and this is a first for me feeling this way about T-Mobile. I had much better service with the old Gateway and tempted to keep it and return the new one even though I have better speeds and 5G. I might as well use my phone unlimited hotspot or my tablet which I've used as hotspot and never had issues with using my devices with it. Expected way better than this. I understand there are limitations compared to regular wifi service but not this. Basic settings and features are not enabled for some reason, yet they were on the old Gateway. That's my rant. I'll be reaching out to them but felt the need to post here and look for some help or answers.2.7KViews5likes11ComentariosHow to check data usage for Home Internet
I recently got T-Mobile Home Internet and I love it. However, I'd like to see how much data each device (or at least all devices) are using on the device. How can I check this out? The phone app does not show me this information, and when I log into the console via the admin IP, it doesn't show me this information either. How can I find out data usage? I have a attached a cropped out image (I'm hiding the serial number) of basically all that I see in the console. There is no data usage information. ¡Gracias!Solved6.6KViews0likes10ComentariosDATA USAGE ACCURACY
Been monitoring our daily usage because we're on an expensive tiered plan. When exceptionally high usage shows up, I note activities that may be the cause--such as Zooms, streaming video, etc. Even though we're on a "data diet", T-Mobile has been reporting some exceptionally high usage that doesn't jibe with our activity. Anyone else experience this?1.5KViews1like14Comentarios2 T Mobile Gateways?
I currently have a Nokia gateway through TMobile and me and my son both work from home and have our computers plugged into it. I, however, will be moving my office to the basement, 2 floors down, and with VPN on wireless, the speed drops substantially. Is there a way to have 2 TMobile gateways, 1 just designated to my computer alone, or is there a better way to get us both hooked up to the 1 without a substantial cost and headache? Mind you, my daughter also has her computer and streams on her TV on the 3rd floor, and we now have about 12 devices total utilizing the gateway, 10 on wireless. Thanks for any help!439Visto0likes1ComentarioInternet data usage
I recently switched to T-Mobile internet service. They say that it's unlimited data but at the same time tell you that your download speeds may decrease when a certain amount of data is used in a particular month. What is the data limit allowed before it actually slows down and how do I check my internet data usage? The website seems to allow me to check my cellular data usage but not my internet data usage.246Visto0likes1ComentarioTaking the 5G Wifi Gateway to places other than your home
I don't just use my Nokia 5G Home internet gateway at my home, I also take it to friends places, the public library, and it still works well and is stable while mobile with it. Shockingly, specific addresses where T-Mobile claims their 5g home internet isn't available, I take my gateway in that area and it works fine. Has anybody else experimented with it in this way? I love patterns and have a curious mind.1.1KViews1like3Comentarios
