Re: DATA USAGE ACCURACY
Thanks, iTinkeralot~ Unfortunately we are in a rural area where T-Mobile limits the number of homes who can be on the unlimited plan. We've received notices from T-M that they're continuing to expand and that we're "on the list" for an upgrade to unlimited when it becomes available. (No indication of when that might be. Months? Years?) Our strategy now is to unplug the TV when not in use or not set to record. We're also turning off the Gateway whenever we're offline. Our young techie neighbor has volunteered to come over and try to figure out what's going on with the data. He said 150GB for what we're been doing doesn't make sense.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: DATA USAGE ACCURACY
Thank you, iTinkeralot. Does the Magenta plan you chose give you unlimited internet? I will check it out later, along with other plans, but T-Moblie has greatly slowed our speed because we've (supposedly) reached our data limit. And yes--price does matter because we're seniors and on a limited budget.10Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: DATA USAGE ACCURACY
I'm confounded by the usagereported by T-Mobile. 13Gs were reported for yesterday. We were NOTat home for 5 of those. When we were home,we either had the Gatewayoff or we surfed the net- novideo, no photo/graphicsdownloaded. We've already turned off automatic system updates, turned off automatic downloads of podcasts. There's just no way we could've used 150Gs.6Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: DATA USAGE ACCURACY
Thank you for your response, 2bv-2b. I'm afraid I need a little clarification. The TV streams Netflix, etc using the WIFI modem (router). Are you suggesting it may still stream when the TV is off? Does that mean we have to unplug the TV after watching? Lately we've begun unplugging the modem after use and when we go to bed. The plot thickens...6Visto0likes0ComentariosDATA USAGE ACCURACY
Been monitoring our daily usage because we're on an expensive tiered plan. When exceptionally high usage shows up, I note activities that may be the cause--such as Zooms, streaming video, etc. Even though we're on a "data diet", T-Mobile has been reporting some exceptionally high usage that doesn't jibe with our activity. Anyone else experience this?1.5KViews1like14ComentariosRe: USAGE details no longer available?
The problem I had 3 days ago is back; I can no longer check my usage. It's important because I'm on the tiered data plan and want to avoid (more) slowdowns. I really don't I want to waste my time by calling in. (Sigh) I was so pleased with T-Mobile when I first signed up with almost 2 months ago--but now...10Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Re-boot
I was interested to see your post. I see an improvement after I reboot my modem but was afraid it was just wishful thinking. I don't want to have to keep doing this, though. I'm paying a pretty penny for my data plan, and am furious when it's so slow I can barely do anything.6Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: USAGE details no longer available?
Thanks, gramps28-- As a newbie to T-Mobile, I really appreciate the tips and advice from folks who've been around longer. 🙂 I really hope to get on unlimited soon; monitoring the data usuage is a drag. And the upgraded tier we're on is wa-aaay more more expensive than the other ISP we had.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: USAGE details no longer available?
YA-AAAY! Saturday morning and my cumulative USAGE is again available. Now I can see if I need to go on a "data diet" until my billing cycle closes. (I don't) Thank you, T-Moblie, for fixing this! I was afraid I was going to have to switch internet providers.10Visto2likes0Comentarios
