I have no idea what you're talking about. i have TMHI and there is no data cap whatsoever. If your plan does have a data cap, cancel your plan, send the gateway back and sign up all over again. The newest offers have no data cap.

There is a T-Mobile Home Internet plan that does have data limits starting at 100GB. It's called "T-Mobile Home Internet Lite".

And it again contains the lie!! “Once you use the monthly data allotment, you will experience reduced speeds.”

OK, I stand corrected. Sorry for the inaccurate advice.

Have you tried contacting TMO Support to see what they say?

Am I strong opinion ever bit of their data allocations and measurements is a scam. It appears they are advertising gigabytes, but measuring gigabits. It's a huge difference
I have four lines and I know the difference between the above measurements and there is data usages on some of my line that is absolutely impossible, especially when it’s full-time Wi-Fi.

yeah, i went to the store and they pulled up a spreadsheet on their ipad saying i had used all of my 100gb plan. i was not the lite plan.
I called customer service and they said no idea where they got that information from.. there is definitely something shady going on

So the original post is not about there being a limit or not, but questioning why there is ‘NO” service instead of slower data rates as the alert clearly states after using the limit.
I think I may have the answer. The full speed service is on 5G UC. There are two ways Tmobile can limit your data speed once you reach the limit:
- De-prioritize your modem on their network which will lower your speeds during peak data times.
- Drop your service to LTE
For #1, this is the fine print for all plans. Even "Unlimited" says that Tmobile may reduce your data rates after 1.2 TB of data use in a given month. You should still have adequate service if you are affected by this.
For #2, this is highly dependent on how good your LTE service is in your area. In my zip code, LTE shows 3-4 bars but the data rates are basically zero and I can only make voice calls and get SMS. This could be the OP's case so I would recommend contacting Tmobile support. OP is correct, after reaching the data limit, they should still get service, not no service.

If you considered getting service a interruption from every 5 minutes service, yeah you still have service.
Like I said the store pulled up a spreadsheet of my unlimited plan data and I only have 100gbs.
There is a data cap for me on unlimited, its 100gb, the customer service rep on the phone wouldn’t tell me this, but after multiple trips to the t-mobile store an employee pulled up a spreadsheet plainly and simply detailing I am 20gb over my 100gb data limit on my UNLIMITED PLAN.
After reaching this limit service is unusable garbage. You cannot stay on their service for longer than 5 minutes without it being interrupted and removing you from any online service until it reconnects 10 seconds later. Once reconnected you have 5 minutes until it boots you off again.
If you want a picture of the spreadsheet saying my unlimited plan is capped at 100gb I can go to the t-mobile store and will post it here.

Looks like you’ve used most of your Home Internet monthly dataSpeeds will slow down at 100% usage Hi, xxx
Be on the lookout-your T-Mobile Home Internet has reached 95% of your 100.00GB monthly data limit. Once you reach 100%, you'll start to experience slower speeds until .
IMPACTED DEVICE
Line ending in xxxThis is a total lie, it 100% stops at the limit nothing works. Agents sold me on it would drop to only 40mb!! What a scam of a company lie!
Same thing happened to me. I watched a couple of movies last night & now I have no internet for the next 10 days. I paid $50 for the so-called unlimited plan & now I have nothing. I was fine with slow internet, but no internet is completely unacceptable. They want me to pay more for continued use. It's a huge lie & a scam.
