I have ArcadyanKVD21, and while I am thoroughly impressed with the speeds from the device on the T-Mobile 5G network, I am disgusted by the lack of any ability to properly manage & (more importantly)secure thisdevice. This trade between speed and security is insulting and offensive to me as a technologically adeptSecurity professional, andexacerbatedby the fact thatT-Mobile continues to fail when tasked with protecting user account PII data. The inability to perform certain key functions completely disappoints me. Below are the primary issues and concerns,which *MUST* be resolved to keep me as a customer: Cannot perform setup /administrativetasks via wired interface. Current (internal)web interface only offers a "basic" informational portal. Cannot completely disable (turn off) WiFi, (likely due to the above). What (few) administrative tasks that are available, requires:download &installation of a worthless"mobile app", which also requires the device be connected to the local WiFi network. Current administrative functions are limited to 3 tasks,changingthe:administrative password, WiFi password, orname of the WiFi SSID. T-Mobile Internet app losesany/allfunctionalitybeyond the local network. If the gateway is connected to the internet, and the device with the app is as well, then there should be no valid reason to require "local" access, especially if the next point is true… As this prevents a parental/guardianauthority from managing the device while travelingoroutside the home (at work). T-Mobile app does not permit multiple instances of the app to be logged in with the same account/credentials. (per T-Mobile technical rep) What absolutely perplexes me is that many (if not all) of these points DID NOT EXIST when I reviewed an earlydevice around one (1)yearago… So why "cripple" the functionality?!?834Visto6likes11ComentariosKVD21 DHCP/iPv6 Prefix Delegation and PFSense
Hi, It seems the KVD21 Gatewayis a great device for basic Internet users. It is wise and understandable. Unfortunately, It has no options for DHCP or iPv6 Prefix Delegation. Is there any other T-Mobile gateway available with more options? At least controlling the DHCP or iPv6 Prefix Delegation? I understand the Core network of T-Mobile is running over pure iPv6 and it is amazing! But iPv6 Prefix Delegation should be available so we can technically get more freedom to use PFSense or other open-source gateways. I am interested in PFSesne because I have more control over my traffic to block the Ads/Tracker/malicious addresses on my network. I have just joined T-Mobile Home Internet. For my situation, I am using Asus Mesh WiFi Router in my setup, so I have only one LAN connection to the KDV21 gateway. For only 10 days since setup, I have experienced twice the connection on the LAN port has stopped. From mobile app, the gateway showed everything as normal with good signal strength and quality. So, I am not sure the connection were dropped over cell connection, or LAN ports just stop working. Restart will resolve the issue. Since I have disabled KVD21 WiFi, I can not isolate if the dropping connection only isolated on LAN ports. Either way, just wondering if others here were also experienced dropping connection on LAN ports, or it is common to dropping on cell connection while still indicated with good connection on mobile app (as well as indicated on gateway screen. After many many many unsuccessful tries at connecting my Teckin SP10 smartplugs to myArcadyan Technology CorporationKVD21 I have come up with a solution. The solution involves the use of two cell phones but it works: Borrow a friend's cell phone and set up a hotspot that is 2.4ghz. Do not use your phone since your phone will be used to add the smartplug. On your phone connect to the hotspot set up in step 1. Open the app that adds your smartplug, for example, I use Smart Life (a free app). I believe that VESync and Go Smart will work just as well. Follow the directions to add your smartplug. For me this involved connecting to the network from step 1, resetting the device, putting it into setup mode (press the power button for 5 seconds), and insuring a rapid blink. The App should find the smartplug even if you have to add it manually. Test the smartplug and update it. Currently the Teckin Smartplug wants to update to version 1.0.8 (I think). THE UPDATE IS A CRITICAL STEP. Wait approximately 5 minutes after the update is completed. Delete the smartplug from the app. Disconnect from the network set up in step 1 and reconnect to your normal network. Go back into the app from step 3 and add the smartplug same as before. Voila! Your smartplug should now work through your normal network (even if it is 5ghz).299Visto0likes1Comentario
