Re: Cannot get an older PC to connect by LAN to Sagemcom Gateway
copz1998 wrote: @AleLynx, your situation sounds frustrating. Try double-checking the PC's internet settings. I have a Mac household so I don't see PC settings often. A few questions to help diagnose the problem, which is probably a setting. Which version of Windows are you running? Windows 11 is easier to establish a connection to than Windows 10. In the Windows (either version) make sure you do a Windows Update so you have current drivers. Here is a tutorial on fixing network issues in Windows. One important point is to go to Settings > Netowork > and make sure it shows connected. Take a few minutes to walk through the diagnostic chart and let us know what works. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-ethernet-connection-problems-in-windows-2311254e-cab8-42d6-90f3-cb0b9f63645f#:~:text=Check%20the%20Ethernet%20cable%20and,connect%20your%20modem%20and%20router. I will triple check the drivers but I don't think that is my problem. I will look into Windows guide and see if there's anything I missed, I will update this thread if I figure it out.👍19Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Cannot get an older PC to connect by LAN to Sagemcom Gateway

I have an ancient desktop computer that is connected via Wi-Fi. When I first got the gateway, the computer did find the default network, but the speed was abysmal. I solved this by creating a second SSID which is 2.4 GHz and WPA/WPA2 + AES/TKIP security. The speed improved dramatically. Maybe this would work for you. Let me know if you would like instructions on how to add the second SSID. I don't seem to have any real problem with the WiFi card but I'll keep that in mind. And Iknow how to set up a second network thanks. 👍23Visto0likes0ComentariosCannot get an older PC to connect by LAN to Sagemcom Gateway
Hi, I have an older Intel PC that I cannot get internet to from my home 5G gateway. I have checked the drivers on the PC and update the gateway when necessary. I have a known good tested CAT6 ethernet cable and have tried everything I can think of. I know both the LAN ports on the gateway work, and I know the LAN port on the back of the PC works so I'm just assuming that there is a compatibility issue that I'm unaware of with older PCs. I would like to know if anyone has suggestions on how to get ethernet from my gateway to this computer or if anyone would know what the problem would be. I am getting internet to it using an external USB WiFicard but the speed isn't great and would like to use ethernet.141Visto0likes5Comentarios
