Re: Do you have 1609 gateway firmware update yet and how is it working for you?
I had to call customer support to get an upgrade to 1609 firmware a few days ago here in the Washington, DC area because I was getting a reoccurrence of theGlobal Protect VPN problem (a downgrade to 168 had worked last month). For the last day or so, I've been getting consistently "good" speeds (around here w/all the buildings, that means at least 100-150 down, 5-10 up), but I attribute that to the 5G Ultra Capacity upgrades that T-Mo has been doing to the entire network because even the speeds for a primary only connection have improved. I still have to regularly reboot to get both primary & secondary signals.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: How to tell whether T-M home internet 5G tower is getting 5G signal?

Since the unit can receive both 4G and 5G signals, I'm wondering how to tell what I'm getting. T-M customer rep said no way to tell because 4G and 5G signal reception all show the same color magenta bars. Since I'm paying $60 a month for a 5G home internet router, I sure like to know what exactly I'm getting. You have to use the "Overview" part of the web interface & see if you're getting the "Secondary Signal", which is 5G. You can then go to "Status" & then click on the "Secondary Signal" to see what band it's connecting to.6Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: T Mobile home internet under 1mbps speeds

I'm across the river in DC & for me, getting "good"speeds (at least 40 Mbps down/4 Mbps up) appears to be very dependent on gettingthe secondary (n41) signal. If I'm stuck w/only the primary (B2) signal, then I'm in single digits Mbps range & I have to reboot, sometimes several times, to get the secondary signal back. What's frustrating is that I know where the closest 5G tower is & the direction to point the router/"trash can" to get the secondary signal, but turning the router away from that tower can get me higher speeds temporarily (from a few hours to a couple days, the highest being 218 Mbps down & 14 Mbps up) before the secondary signal cuts out & I have to reboot & point the router back at the 5G tower.14Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: GlobalProtect VPN not working with T-Mobile
I just received my Gateway over the weekend & ran into thisproblem w/GlobalProtect this pastMonday. Microsoft Outlook & Teams worked fine, but no web access. As of Tuesday, the 24th, at least here in the Washington, DC, area, T-Mobile's solution is still to roll back the firmware.9Visto0likes0Comentarios
