Re: Wifi network settings different between app & router portal

Older printers, say 12+ years old, tend to only support WPA or WEP authentication. I don't know the default setting for the 2.4 GHz radio on the Arcadyan but the authentication and frequency response of the older printer may both be part of the incompatibility. The IEEE standard for 802.11ax is supposed to be backward compatible but when it comes to older printers and such the drivers for those older wireless radios were not engineered for use with the newer tech in mind so it becomes a limitation. One way you might be able to deal with the issue is to use a wifi extender that is not 802.11ax or even 802.11ac capable. If you have a wireless extender that is 802.11 a/b/g/n then the printer could possibly work through that. Just a thought as I have seen older devices work with a lesser wireless extender that links uptown the gateway. If you use a browser and the URL address:http://192.168.12.1/TMI/v1/gateway?get=allyou should be able to get a fair amount of information from the gateway including the configuration parameters you need to see. There are some excellent YouTube videos by Nater Tater that could help you out. Some things about the Arcadyan gateway are not as easy to do as with the Nokia gateway. Sad but true. One would think the next generation of T-Mobile gateway would improve on the simple things but I think many would argue against that thought. If you don't have it I have attached the user guide for the Arcadyan gateway. Thank you! Considering out of my ~35 devices only this one printer is the problem child, I've considered just upgrading my printer rather than deal with the 2.4/5 ghz nonsense. But it does seem like there's a glitch somewhere unrelated to that.. just as an example, I have a Raspberry Pi, connected to the 2.4ghz network, but suddenly can't be pinged when I'mon my PCconnected to the same network. But if I switch to the 5 ghz network, everything is fine. Considering doing a factory reset of the gateway and setting everything up again…..3Visto0likes0ComentariosWifi network settings different between app & router portal
I'vebeen having some odd network problems recently -- I have chosen to have seperate 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi networks dueto some old devices (namely, a printer) not being able to use a combined network. I'm seeing some devices on my network unable to connect to other devices on the network when connected to the 2.4ghz SSID. Other devices have no problem. In any event, when I go to 192.168.12.1 and log in, I only see the5g network listed. In the mobile app I'm seeing both. I'm not sure this has anything to do with the problems I'm experiencing but I thought I'd mention it...218Visto0likes3ComentariosRe: t-monile home internet is barely providing basic data speeds sometimds.
