Wifi network settings different between app & router portal

So, you have the Arcadyan gateway. It will have all three radios. It has the 2.4GHz, and two 5GHz radios, the high and lower band 5GHz for the 802.11ax capability. Older printers, say 12+ years old, tend to only support WPA or WEP authentication. I don't know the default setting for the 2.4 GHz radio on the Arcadyan but the authentication and frequency response of the older printer may both be part of the incompatibility. The IEEE standard for 802.11ax is supposed to be backward compatible but when it comes to older printers and such the drivers for those older wireless radios were not engineered for use with the newer tech in mind so it becomes a limitation. One way you might be able to deal with the issue is to use a wifi extender that is not 802.11ax or even 802.11ac capable. If you have a wireless extender that is 802.11 a/b/g/n then the printer could possibly work through that. Just a thought as I have seen older devices work with a lesser wireless extender that links uptown the gateway. 

If you use a browser and the URL address: http://192.168.12.1/TMI/v1/gateway?get=all you should be able to get a fair amount of information from the gateway including the configuration parameters you need to see. There are some excellent YouTube videos by Nater Tater that could help you out. Some things about the Arcadyan gateway are not as easy to do as with the Nokia gateway. Sad but true. One would think the next generation of T-Mobile gateway would improve on the simple things but I think many would argue against that thought.

Thank you!  Considering out of my ~35 devices only this one printer is the problem child, I've considered just upgrading my printer rather than deal with the 2.4/5 ghz nonsense.  But it does seem like there's a glitch somewhere unrelated to that.. just as an example, I have a Raspberry Pi, connected to the 2.4ghz network, but suddenly can't be pinged when I'm on my PC connected to the same network.  But if I switch to the 5 ghz network, everything is fine.  Considering doing a factory reset of the gateway and setting everything up again…..

If you haven't seen Nater Tater's YouTube video on the way to do advanced configuration of the Arcadyan you should check it out. With the few command lines you can have the config copied out as a file, edit the parameters you need, and send it back into the gateway. 

I don't know how much they have improved the configuration options on the Arcadyan yet with the software updates. It is rather behind the curve when it comes to configuration. The mobile app does offer some more visibility but really not enough and it is flakey at times.
