Re: Home Internet - Frequent Disconnects - Possible Fix
anonymousjackal wrote: Following up on my last message with some good news - I'vehad a fan running at the device over the last 24 hrs and the device hasn't restarted once since then, so the cooling fix seems to have worked for us. We had a desk fan initially going at it, but I ended up getting this fan on Amazon overnighted to my house because it occupies less desk space(the 5G gateway / router sits perfectly on top) and is much quieter:https://amazon.com/dp/B07R659J8Z. Thanks for sharing your fix@JamesR! I ended up with a fan just like that, but has a speed control, and then I 3D printed a piece that fits over the fan and holds the gateway on top. Glad you were able to fix your problem.80Visto1like0Comentarios- 18Visto0likes0Comentarios
Re: Frequent Disconnection on 5G Home Internet
brucekey wrote: I had the same problem with frequent disconnects. After reading up on the internet on similar problems, I purchased a cheap 4.5"x4.5" cooling fan on amazon. No more drops. Apparently when the modem gets a lot of use, it overheats and drops the connection. I placed the cooling fan on a cookie cooling rack (a screen that is about a half inch from the table) with the fan blowing toward the ceiling. Then place the T-Mobile modem on the fan. The fan has run 24-7 for about 7 months now. I just had Astound cable service hooked up for only $32/month and have now cancelled the Tmobile internet. Good luck cancelling T-mobile internet …it tooknumerous calls, as they were unable to locate my account even after I gave them the account number and assigned phone number as listed on my monthly wireless internet bills. I should have read the entire thread before posting my last post. I believe overheating is my issue as well.8Visto0likes0ComentariosHome Internet - Frequent Disconnects - Possible Fix
I might have found the problem that was causing frequent disconnects (happened multiple times a day) for the last couple of weeks. The disconnect would require a reboot to get the internet working again. I'm hoping that others having this issue would be willing to give this a try and see if it helps with their issue as well. A Fan! I believe that my issue is that my gateway is overheating. After placing a fan blowing directly on it this morning, I haven't had a single issue with connectivity all day. If you're having this same problem, please trying cooling off your gateway and report back whether your issues have gone away or stayed the same. I hope this finds everyone with this problem and will lead to a proper fix.30KViews3likes28ComentariosRe: Modem drops internet service every night
Does it keep working throughout the day? If so, you're lucky. I've been having to restart my modem a few times a day due to loosing connection that never returns on its own. Been through all of the steps with customer service twice now and am currently on hold to try and figure out the problem for the third time. Been having this issue for almost two weeks now.56Visto0likes0Comentarios
