Re: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

I really thought they would send me directions on how to leave TMo. But I was wrong. They proposed an acceptable alternative to me. I'm not going to explain it here because it was a bit complicated. I think TMo management may be hearing the outcry from customers. Othersmay wish to contact 611 by text. Don't call them. You will need to start with a short clear statement of your concern to get past the bot agent and be queued to a real person. It will take several minutes. Hope this helps. I tried this and was told that I don't have any other options (my request for other options was denied by management). I've been bombarded by requests from AT&T and Verizon. Time to start looking in a different direction. Good move Tarm, I've also switched.2Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

It's just common sense to NOT use your debit card for automated payments to prevent security issues AND a credit cardgives me flexibilitysince my balance can vary a bit each month. I never thought about leaving till this change. Does anyone know if Mint requires a debit card or bank account? In the meantime, here's a hint I use. I opened a secondary checking account when I was in my 20's. I only use it to pay bills through the bank's online payment service or automated bill payments where I didn't have much choice. I do not have a debit card linked to it (yeah, the banker looked at me funny until I explained what I was doing) so there's no risk of a stolen debit card emptying the account. Each pay period, I move the money I need over for bills to it. Other than a minimum I keep in there to prevent any fees, that's it. Mint allows you to pay with a credit card. They are also being acquired by T-Mobile so who knows the future. They have the cheapest plans that are prepaid at the moment but Visible(by Verizon) has a good plan with better overall 4G coverage. Another player out there is US Mobile which uses both Verizon and T-Mobile towers. Good luck.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

Ridiculous and illogical argument by another cheerleader and possible T-Mobile commenter with 6,651 replies out here. So your argument, It happens to all of them so there is nothing wrong with T-Mobile forcing users to give up their banking information or jacking your rates by 10% per phone, four times Credit Card fees. Sure, that's how you define integrity on their part, right? IMO everyone should bail on the T-Mobile German owned service. Find an American carrier. T-Mobile clearly don't give a crap about Americans banking security and think them dumb enough to submit to this ultimatum. Call me what you want but I started a thread about this 4 months ago. https://community.t-mobile.com/accounts-services-4/auto-pay-with-credit-cards-ends-49144 And when I make a post that people don't like they automatically think I work for Tmobile. Plus it not a ridiculous argument do some research. https://www.pcmag.com/news/man-hacked-t-mobile-employees-to-unlock-cell-phones-rake-in-25-million https://www.foxla.com/news/fox-11-tracks-down-verizon-employee-accused-of-taking-bribes-from-sim-swap-hackers Clearly it's a waste trying to discuss logic with you. Logic of Gramps28, Since other carriers have also been hacked, T-Mobile should further jeopardize the customers banking security by eliminating Credit Card protections and require their banking information now be available during all future hacks. It's not only illogical and ridiculous, it's hilarious.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

I'm spinning T-Mobile off right now, down to one phone on plan and they say my bill will be $105 per month plus tax. Maybe not updated since last phone dropped but I'm glad to leave. This is a clear money grab (potential billions) and their lack of their security concerns of customer bank information with all their (recent hacks 37Million+ accounts). I'll let the Germans keep their Service. There a better American company plans to choose from.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

Like paying Comcast, but don't even get me started about those guys... yeah Verizon started this years ago.. for them if you want the discount you must use a debit card/bank info or their own Verizon CC card.. i think ATT is one of the last bigs to still do the CC card discount..but if im thinking right that also depends on which plan you are on. and dont get me started with Comcast lol. I agree with the other commenters that point out your continual defense of T-Mobile with (They did it too!). I also agree that you sure seem to be working for T-Mobile. funny how that is the first thing people jump to when they dont agree with what is being said.. or the fact that you jumped in on this when i was responding to another poster that pointed out pretty much the same thing i have been saying..TMO isnt the only one that has done this.. my point since day one of this was yall need to put in a tad bit of research before posting.. as an extra example...TMO is currently looking into purchasing Mint..one of the 3 fully American companies you just mentioned. which now puts you down to 2 fully American companies. anywho...side note for anyone in here..most banks have bill pay..personally have never used it but one would think that their security for such a thing would be higher than just dumping your bank info or debit card info to a company...anyone use the bill pay options and have any info on how it works etc? might be the work around if it has higher security (funny how) a kid who steals goes right to that (they did it too) (TMO) So???????????? Whats the point, then it's okay in your world, veiw point? Don't get it. (most banks have bill pay) Maybe you missed it, bill pay is not T-Mobile Autopay so you lose in my case $240 a year. ????????????????????????? You doth protest too much, that's the glaring give away others speak of.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

Just weighing options and seeing what others have considered / done. My misinterpretation and appology. Companies offering decent deals Mint (US) appears to be in process of being purchased by T-Mobile, so who knows. (Visible (Verison subsiderary)) is US and (US Mobile (uses T-Mobile and Verison) are both US companies offering decent deals.1Ver1like0ComentariosRe: what's up with T-mobile removing autopay discount for credit cards?

T-mobile going to be the next Bed Bath & Beyond. Poor management.. 20+ years T-Mobile customer and have began switching carriers. I have found three others Mint, Visible, US M0bile that save me significantly over T-Mobile before this money grab at the expense of their customers banking information security. See my other posts where I laid out the facts. The potential billions more they make if you prefer to keep your banking information secured from their frequent (massive) data breaches. Once my children get their phones switched, I'm done with them. They are a German company now anyway so they give a flip about Americans wishes for security. My new carrier is are USA all the way.1Ver0likes0Comentarios
