Re: iPad problems with T-Mobile Internet
I have noticed this problem with my 2 new iPads ( 9th generation) when they are connected to the 5GHZ band only. I have created separate 2.4 and 5 GHZ bands because some older devices wouldn't connect until I did this. If I connect the iPads to the 2.4 band it never disconnects. Interestingly, my iPhone 10S stays connected to the 5 GHZ band with no issues as well as my Apple TV.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Google Nest Wifi Router Offer

There is no capability to activate bridge mode on the T mobile gateway router. So the google nest system is incompatible with the T mobile gateway router despite it being recommended by T mobile support and marketed on the T mobile internet website. I have the Google home mesh WiFi that I ordered through T-Mobile and it works just fine. I now have full coverage throughout my house and I'm using the T-Mobile cylinder router. I'm not sure if you have actually tried using it or someone is telling you something else.12Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Google Nest Wifi Router Offer
I should be receiving my Nest router and two additional points any day now. My question posed to the community is this: the tutorial says to hide SSID in the T-Mobile router. Is that just turning off the broadcast signals so you can't see them with your, phone, computer, tablet, etc. Or is it completely turning off each one all together? It seems if your able to go into the T-Mobile router and turn "off" the ability for the router to broadcast at all, the double Nat thing shouldn't be an issue, but this is really above my pay grade. Just trying to make the best of my use of my T-Mobile setup. Price and availability drove me toT-Mobile and recent tower upgrades have me seeing download speeds in th upper 300-400 mbps, but my upload speeds have been cut in half from about 50-60 mbps to 20-25 mbps. The value based on price and needs smokes my other two options of spectrum and Altafiber (formerly Cincinnati Bell).27Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: T mobile internet is working perfectly
I have now been with T-Mobile home internet 3½months and I'm very satisfied with the service given what they charge verses Spectrum and the local Ma Bell. I live in what is described as 5Gextended area by T-Mobile. It started bumpy, with the first two 5G gateways didn't work, the first was the on-off button wouldn't stay on. The second just quitafter two days. The third onehas been working fine. I regularly have download speeds of 150 - 190 MBPS and 35 to 50 up. I have experienced one time a loss of internet connection and after I rebooted the gateway i haven't experienced a loss of connection again. My gateway sits in the middle of the house, as no matter I put it,the signal was the same. 2 to 3 bars for primary ( B2 and sometimes B66) and 3 to 4 bars for the secondary signal (N71). The 1609 firmware upgrade fixed the Cisco anywhere VPN issue I was experiencing on my company laptop. It is true that making small turns to the gateway way affects your signal reception. I'm using the wireless router without additional routers because I have really good signal throughout the house and my property( I'm on an acre). I only had one device that wouldn't initially connect to the router and that was my Sonos sound bar. It's only 2.4GHZ, I had to change the ax designation in the 2.4GHZ setting and it connected immediately, once connected I changed it back to ax and it has stayed connected since. I only have one WiFi 6 capable device, a new laptop and it wouldn't even see the routers wireless signal until I updated the laptop, after that it connected easily. So it is nice to read others with good experiences, there are always going to be issues in different areas and with different people as sometimes I believe their expectations exceed the actual service, i. e. Port forwarding, configuring the gateway for bridge mode, etc. those things someday may come as the service grows. As for me I love to see them disrupting all the big boys to force them to be more competitive. Go T-Mobile!4Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: home area
drnewcomb wrote: Internet addresses don't have an inherent location. Google's ability to guess your location from your IP address is based on the way that cable and DSL ISPs have historically organized their networks. It's Google that's broken, not T-Mobile. I guess what I meant by inherent was the cellular connection couldconnect wherever they decide you connect( over simplification) . I wasn't trying to imply that Detroit would be it, sorry.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: home area
I believe this is inherently part of the cellular connection network. When I first started using T Mobile internet connection, it showed I was in the Philadelphia area, it was messing with my YouTube TV. I live in the Cincinnati area. YouTube can set your location for their service, just follow the directions. YouTube shows me in Cincinnati now. That doesn't fix where I'm connected for other services though. Now I show being connected in Detroit with my T Mobile connection.I'm not sure why other streaming services can't figure this out. By the way I don't experience the issue when searching for places near me, initially I did, but recently I believe big brother Google has locked on to my location. Even when using Duck Duck Go they can locate my area when the app asks me if deny letting them using location, it will show me restaurants in Detroit.6Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Do you have 1609 gateway firmware update yet and how is it working for you?
I received the update sometime in the last week, I can confirm that my VPN connection through Cisco any connectnow works consistently. I have no change in up/ download speeds. 120-190 down and 30-50 up. B2 and N71 on the tower connection. Once in a great while B66, but I haven'tseen that in a month. I'm going on two months with this service. I'm satisfied so far, it meets our needs at a great price. Also I noticed my ping times went 80-100 to 25-30, mostly 25.5Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: AirPrint with T-Mobile home internet Nokia 5G21 gateway
I had the same issue recently. I setup a new Brother printer successfully on the wireless network and I was able to print from all devices, Windows, IOS,MAC, and just yesterday I couldn't print from any IOS devices, error, can't find any air print printers. I could print from the Brother App, but not directly from IOS device. I did a system reboot, (not factory reset) and now I can see the printer and print from these devices. I'm not sure what happened, but the gateway just recently received a firmware update. All my IP addressesstayed the same. I know they're not static and for my general uses I'm ok with this. I know there are many who want the location set for their area, but that isn't important to what I use the Internet for presently. Anyway that was my solution for IOS print problem.6Visto0likes0Comentarios
