Re: "LG IMS keeps stopping"
timmob wrote: I wrote to LG and they sent me the attached PDF instructions. I've performed it on both phones and it works until the phone is powered off.I'll contact them again. The following instruct in your T-Mobile pdf link does not work on most LG phones because it is not listed as an option. Select Download for 'LG IMS Improved' and wait for the update to complete. Yet another false solution.29Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: "LG IMS keeps stopping"
Solution #1 Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > 3 dots > Restore Default Settings. If that does not do it, make sure WIFI is off and stays off, reboot phone carefully, make sure WIFI is off and do Solution #2 and repeat Solution #1 again. Solution #2 FIX DO NOT FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE Turn off WIFI REBOOT PHONE (ensure WIFI didn't restart or make it stay off in phone settings Go to settings → Apps/notifications -> App info -> Three dots -> Show System -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> Storage CLEAR CACHE FORCE STOP (After clearing CACHE) CLEAR DATA (This will not delete your texts) FORCE STOP (After clearing DATA) Leave Settings. Popups should stop. Reboot. Popups should remain gone unless you turn WIFI back on. GO BACK AND REPEAT SOLUTION #124Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: "LG IMS keeps stopping"

TMO sent out a side update to all devices (Samsung, LG, etc)..the only OEM that ended up with an issue were mainly older LG devices..their test server never popped up any errors..only after the update was pushed...so on the TMO side all showed good to go… main reason why TMO and LG are working on it..for the older devices it was something not causing any issues but was an actual issue..for TMO their test system never detected the problem. the side update was to improve network connections. Here's the updated instructions for the permanent fix from 5/27/22 if anyone still experiences the issue or wants to make sure they have the latest update: T-Mobile's support team on Twitter told customers that it was aware of the issue and that it would release a fix soon. The problem has apparently been caused by a network-side system update rolled out by T-Mobile. The carrier discovered the bug only after the update was already deployed. While the issue has now been fixed, it highlights the risk of continuing to use a smartphone that no longer receives support from the manufacturer. UPDATE T-Mobile has officially acknowledged the recent IMS bug that occurred on many LG phones after it pushed a network settings update. Below are the steps to apply the fix: From your list of apps, tap the"Settings"gear. Either select"System"or choose the"General"tab. ChooseUpdate Center>App Updates. Select"Download for LG IMS Improved"and wait for the update to complete. Press and hold thepowerkey, then choose to restart your device. THIS IS FALSE. NO SUCH STEP EXIST ON MANY OR ALL AFFECTED LG PHONES: "Select"Download for LG IMS Improved"and wait for the update to complete." ---and T-Mobile has not officially done anything. Call your Attorney General.14Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: LG releases fix for LG IMS crash

These steps worked for me and have survived restarting as well. tap theSettingsgear. ChooseApps & notifications. If you don't see that option, tap theGeneraltab. SelectApp info. Tap theMenuicon with three dots, then chooseShow system. Choosecom.lge.ims.rcsproviderfrom the list, then selectForce Stop>OK. Important:There are multiple apps withcom.lgein the name. Asegúrate de estar eligiendo la adecuada. TapStorageand choose toClear Cache. When that's done, selectClear Data>OK. Select theBackarrow to return to the previous screen. SelectForce Stop>OKfor a second time. If the message still shows, chooseForce Stop>OKagain. Es posible que debas hacer esto varias veces. The key to it working (for me) was having to do the force stop/clear datarepeatedly. They definitely should get some pushback from customer who were affected. At very least, they should apologize. A bill credit for the last week would go a long way to letting us know they are aware of where responsibility lies. I give LG kudo's. Considering they aren't in the phone business any longer but still pushed out a fix in a few days seems pretty good to me. I'm still not seeing the update. Propagation can take up to 48 hours typically. If anyone gets the update, please post so the rest of us have some hope of seeing a fix soon. This is the same iffy fix a tech savvy customer suggested 2 weeks ago tomorrow and posted here. T-mobile has not even officially addressed this issue affecting hundreds of thousands of customers. Call your AG. I want problem fixed not a new phone. My LG is superb and has replaceable batteries.23Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: LG G7 error message this morning

Unfortunately, those actions to not work for the vast majority of people, as evidenced by the hundreds of postings on dozens of forums and websites…people are trying "Force Stop and Clear Cache"and for nearly all of them, it is not working. It did not work for our two phones, nor did any of the other false fixes posted on YouTube. If this was a good fix, T-Mobile would tell their retail store employees about it! If this was a good fix, somebody would post a legitimate YouTube showing an actual phone actually healing! If is very clear that T-Mobile did something this past Sunday that effectively bricked many thousands of LG phones. LG abandoned the phone business, so they have little incentive to help (but we can always hope). T-Mobile might not even know what they did…the error could be buried somewhere in the code of a complicated update. They are surely investigating. The erroneous code might be buried within other updates which they don't want to reverse for legitimate reasons. Customers need to courteously but urgently request T-Mobile do one of two things: Either reverse the network change they made last Sunday that bricked millions of dollars worth of phones, or Offer generous discounts to customers to purchase non-LG phones so they can get back to work (and those discounts should be retroactive so that desperate customers who replaced their phones today can participate). CLEARING THE CACHE WORKS FOR NOBODY, CLEARING THE DATA DOES. Be precise. They are not the same.8Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: LG IMS Keeps Stopping FIX
Body Roc wrote: I got this fix 5/24/22 it's similar to many others. They don't work this one does. It's from a LG engineer. Put the affected LG phone in airplane mode by pulling down the notification shade and tapping on the plane icon. Putting the phone in airplane mode should stop the IMS error message from popping up. Open the phone's settings and tap on Apps and Notifications, followed by App Info. On the App Info page, click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the screen and tap on Reset App Preferences, then tap on Show System. Look on the app list for "com.lge.ims.rcsprovider" and tap on to open the next page. Doing so will pull up the pre-installed IMS provider app's detailed overview. Once there, tap on the clear data/cache option, then clear storage, then force stop. Then restart the phone. If the pop up happens anytime during this. Restart phone and do again. This not quite right. You state: "Once there, tap on the clear data/cache option, then clear storage, then force stop." However, you must clear CACHE, then go back and force STOP Then go back tap clear DATA, then go back and force STOP. Then exit out of settings. CACHE and DATA are two different things and DATA is the key. Turn off airplane mode and test before you allow WIFI to be enabled. If all god, turn on WIFI.If problem resumes, repeat but keep WIFI of or use 2nd solution: THE BEST SOLUTION many have found (and easiest, which was posted by a tech on Monday night) and which allows WIFI to be turned on and RESTARTING the phone (without the debilitating popup returning) is the following: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > 3 dots > Restore Default Settings.20Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: "LG IMS keeps stopping"

Does this delete your pics, info, etc on the phone?? No. It deletes nothing, but restores the default setting for the access point names which must have gotten corrupted or changed to something incompatible with LG phones during a T-mobile pushed update on Sunday morning. This will not delete any call logs or text messages either.9Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: LG IMS keeps stopping
