Re: T-Mobile Tuesdays for Home Internet
BUT…your gateway may be placed in an awkward location in order to maximize the signal strength. If so, accessing it to read the promo-code may be tedious. I've experienced this problem for several instancesof "Tuesdays", but have not found a good solution. Ideally, it should be possible to have an alternate means of receiving the code…perhaps via email or a text to an alternate phone? The current scheme is not user-friendly.17Visto1like0ComentariosRe: T-mobile gateway with seperate router
First, I'llcommend JSAVGA for beginning this discussion --- this topic should prove valuable for new users. I am using a similar setup --- in MY case with a similar ASUS router and Windows 7. I have hadtwo TM gateways--- the gray-round one and (eventually) the black-square one. Each gateway was directly wired to my RT-N66W router and allmy numerous connections were immediately available. I donot use AP mode…my router continues to use the default "router" mode. I have not experienced any problems with this setup after 1.5 years. BUT, please let me know if there is a potential danger.32Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Can't see New 5G Gateway name in my list of available wifi networks
Hmm, I've noticed a similar quirk --- using anArcadyan gateway. When using the WIFI ANALYZER app on my Moto phone, the gateway SSIDwill occasionally not appear. This has not caused a problem for ME (yet) because I connect the gateway to a separate router and use the latter SSID for wifi connections. I sympathize with you but cannotoffer a solid solution. Well,I'll let you know that similar situations exist for others.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: moto g 5g question
I also have a Moto G 5G. My phone doesnot have an APP named "BatteryBot". It appears that YOU have that APP --- perhaps installed via Google-Play? I have a suspicion that this APP has its notifications set to either "silent" or "none". In that case the APP may be attempting to warn you that notifications are not allowed. (maybe?) If you assign a notification-sound to the APP then perhaps your pull-down area will bemodified…and then make more sense.1Ver0likes0ComentariosRe: New 4-character Access-code for Tuesdays
The WHATSAPP technique sounds interesting…but ??? I researched this and found severalsources stating that the WHATSAPP needs to be installed on the "phone" receiving the original text. If so, I cannot do thatbecause that "phone" is only a dummy-number assigned to my modem. REMEMBER - I don't have a phone-account atTM. Please clarify…is it possibile to load WHATSAPP onto my non-TM phone so that it will then receive TEXT-messages from my gateway?I am a newbie and somewhat uneasywhen using cell-phone apps. At any rate, I appreciate your response.4Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: New 4-character Access-code for Tuesdays
Well…yes… the TEXT is sent. It arrives at the MODEM…which is located in an awkward location. I had been wondering if this TEXT (or equivalent code) could be sent in an alternate manner…to a non-TM phone or to an email address. The current scheme continues to be non-friendly since I use a step-ladder for each access. (but if I relocate the modem to a lower/accessible location, then my signal is diminished)3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: How to read received texts with T-mobile home internet
The previous entry questioned which gateway was being used. FWIW - I experienced this missing-PIN problem with the gray/round gateway and suggested a dummy-SMSto causeaccumulated messages to scroll-down. Later…I changed to a black-square gateway and was able to see ALL messages…albeit with very awkward scrolling. SO ??? - maybe this feedback will be useful for someone ???9Visto0likes0ComentariosNew 4-character Access-code for Tuesdays
I usethe 5G Internet but DO NOT have a T-Mobile phone. When I attempt to use the Tuesday App (on my non T-Mobile phone) the App occasionally requires me to log-in again. In order to do that, a 4-digit access-code is sent to my modem…which I must then enter into the App. My modem is mounted on a very high shelf in order to obtain a good signal --- so I must then use a step-ladder to view the access-code. QUESTION --- is it possible to obtain this access-code via a TEXT or an EMAIL instead? If so, I could avoid using a potentially dangerous stepladder. The currently scheme is not user-friendly.165Visto0likes5ComentariosRe: Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway vs. Nokia
I used the Nokia model for about 5 months. The signal strength varied wildly but was workable for me --- although the unit seemed to have problems displaying notification-messages. I received anArcadyan replacement model about 4 weeks ago. The Arcadyan MAY beslightly slower…perhaps 10% to 20% but that is only mygut-feeling. My SPEEDTEST measurements are affected by far too many variables. At any rate despite theArcadyan speed-variations, it is essentially "workable".8Visto1like0ComentariosRe: 5G Gateway SSID Naming
Perhaps you could wire your old router to the gateway. My own system is setup like that and my old SSID and passwords are preserved. Thatapproach took less than 60 seconds. BUT - to answer your original question, I do now know if spaces are allowed in the Gateway-network.8Visto0likes0Comentarios
