Cannot admin gateway via wired connection
I went on vacation and had to reset my mobile device network to be able to use the partner networks. When I came home I needed to log back into the gateway Wi-Fi, but I stored my encrypted passwords on a computer that has stopped working. So I connected to the gateway via wired on a system that has no wireless connection and tried to admin the gateway. This is not possible to do. How could they lock out admin service from a wired connection? This just seems like the programmers didn't want the wired ports to be used. Just to clarify, I use encrypted passwords on different devices and try not to have multiple passwords for a single device on the same managers. So my admin password was available to me via the phone, but not the Wi-Fi. So I have to reset my gateway and restart the install process, reconnect all my devices and waste hours of my time when it could have been easily resolved with a better interface. What a rotten way to end a nice vacation.126Visto0likes1ComentarioRe: IP Location issue
I agree this is a major issue. Being disabled and home watching TV a lot, I cannot get the local information from the Smart TV channels, having streaming services repotting that my location seems wrong. I am trying to get my TV to use my location from my account, but it seems that I don't have a way to do that. I believe that we need to start contacting the BBB, FCC/FTC plusyour local Agricultural, Trade and Consumer Protection,Public Service Commission and Department of Justice. Since my area has junk cable (down 30% or more) I don't have much other choice for ISP in my building. The reasons phones are not having the same issues is GPS built in. I wish somehow the gateway itself would have a way to provide the location via the SIM.1Ver0likes0Comentarioscan the following features be added to the 5G Home gateway?
I am a network engineer. I'd like to be able to adjust many things on my network. Because I live in a rural area and this Internet is much better than the local wired Internet. The following features need to be added to future firmware. First: device renaming. Giving everything a generic name and not allowing me to change it so I can monitor my devices hasto be fixed. Second: better firmware upgrade options. Right now you have to search the Internet to even know if there is a new firmware then download it and upgrade your device. Most devices today automatically check the server and can do the install right from the server. Third: QOS! I have wired devices that need more bandwidth when utilized and I need to QOS that. Almost all of today's home routers have QOS ability. Fourth: notification settings. I need to be notified if a new device is trying to connect either to the management or as a new Wi-Fi device. Almost like adding 2FA to the device. Fifth: a better web interface. The current interface is lacking a lot of ability. I cannot list my devices nor can I really manage the unit well. The mobile device is a lot better. The software seems rushed and not well tested. I volunteer to become a beta tester and to work with the network people to really make this a great communication device.597Visto4likes6Comentarios
