Re: Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway Update Rollout?
If old firmware was the ONLY issue, sending a new gateway is a dumb (slow and expensive) way to upgrade firmware. As I and others reported here, firmware updates are done automatically over-the-air usually off-peak (3a - ish). Also as tech support is not dispatching these devices, wondering how they can be confident the replacement won't also be loaded with v.12. BTW v.12 worked for me, v.16 did improve performance.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Home Internet causes phones to not work

Will have to unfortunately stick with Spectrum unless tech support comes-up with a solution. If not yet done so, try "placement assessment"available from the T-Mobile mobile app -fromintro screen under bar graph click "more about connection quality". Cell transmitters are directional sotower distance is but 1 factor. Also seems for 4g LTE (always my primary signal - usually 4 bars) the left side, when viewing gateway, pointing toward tower/placement indicator seems best. Lastly, individual speedtest results vary widely from second to second… do at least 2 tests back-to-back. With similar tower distance, and within cell transmission cone, I'm getting 105/37 mbps up/dn on average (dn outliers 27-220 mbps).11Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: New Arcadyan firmware fixes dropped connections?
Just got same about 8h ago and seen noticeablespeed improvement, no stability issue before nor since update. Some tips old/new re: gateway placement with unexpected benefit (for me YMMV)… rotate/test in small increments, or at least try facing left-side (when viewing LCD) toward tower. place near window [genius right 😂] … thinking shear curtains (doubled), non-metallic awning or tinted window film will address direct sunlight (heat) concern; remove metal window screen (perhaps swap for plastic). Definite albeit limited (15%?) speed-bump for me!!! All the talk about window placement and 1 smart soul (not me) mentioned this last point. With signal stability thinking it's similar to poor reception on digital OTA TV, drop below threshold = nothing/no signal, whereaswithanalog = picture tho fuzzy. Point being even a small 10-15% stronger signal may mean the difference between stable connection & frequent drops. HTH.2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway Update Rollout?
Firmware pushed 3a EST so now running v1.00.16 - automatic (no request) and auto-reboot from v.12 to v.16. Expected v.14, understand why they might skip v.13 but seen mention of v.14 but nothing beyond. Haven't found description of new release but expecting general "improvements in speed and stability". Anyone seeinginfo (link) especially of new features, please advise. Meanwhile, comparing like times with very limitedhours/testing… up/dn improved from average of 85/30 mbps to 115/44(30% +/- faster, no stability problems so far - before nor after update).2Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway Update Rollout?
Was always manually rebooting (plug/unplug) but maybe it was auto-rebooting at times and didn't know as I just discovered the uptime counter. So many different interfaces, also just discovered a "restart your gateway" option on the T-mobile Internet app -not to be confused with the T-mobile app😊 To original issue, just re-setup gateway but still original x12 firmware, not new x14 in case anyone was wondering.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMobile Home Internet causes phones to not work
rwilson2 wrote: Speed vary a lot during the day - sometimes they are below 20Mbps too…But they still work for my needs. I turned off the WiFi on my phone and I do now see 2 bars of signal. Not sure why the WiFi would affect my LTE signal (note: we have both a 4G iPhone and and 5G iPhone, and both see the problem). Also, my phone isn't connecting to the TMobile device's WiFi. Maybe I should just try turning that off too? Update… find the problem, 3 phones & gateway competing for signal/bandwidth? Possible, inelegant solution is use VOIP (Wi-Fi-based calling) at home with call-forwarding… just beware at this point not all are compatible/supported (Google Voice purposely does).10Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Arcadyan KVD21 Gateway Update Rollout?
Same… hoping firmware x14 is available and fixes reliability & perhaps added features/diagnostics before me and neighbor must end T-mo trial &resort to cable ISP. How are you seeing auto-reboots? My needs are modest but I too have (so far) 1-2x/d no service (0 bars) or earlier today 3 bars displayed but no internet… then manual reboot (unplug/plug).3Visto0likes0Comentarios
