Re: 5G Gateway G4AR-1, firmware v1.00.09 - 2.4Ghz networks no longer working
I was having a similar issue. I rebooted many times with no avail. Then I was moving things around and I accidentally knocked the power cord out of the socket. After it powered up, the 2.4ghz network and my Epson printer finally connected. I was trying for days after receiving the new gateway.10Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: TMO-G4AR gateway, Epson ET-2850 printer wirelss connection failure.

INSTRUCTIONS You can have several Wi-Fi networks on the gateway. You want to leave the default network alone (2.4 & 5 GHz; WPA2/WPA3 security) and add a second, dedicated 2.4 GHz network. Add the second network with the+sign at the bottom of the Network tab in the T-Mobile Internet app on your phone. For this new network, set the band to2.4 GHzand set the WPA version toWPA/WPA2. Try connecting your printer to this second network. Use the default network for your other devices, as much as possible. Note that WPA/WPA2 (on the second network)is less secure, so I recommend setting this network to be Hidden. Here are the T-Mobile support instructions for how to add the second network with the app. AndroidHow to create additional Wi-Fi networks | App T-Mobile Internet | Android | T-Mobile Support iOSHow to create additional Wi-Fi networks | App T-Mobile Internet | iOS | T-Mobile Support Main instructions Help Center | APP Android | T-Mobile Support Help Center | APP iOS | T-Mobile Support I tried the steps above many, many times and could not get my Epson xp 4100 to connect to the 2.4ghz network. I tried multiple passwords and lengths and still could not get it to connect. I couldn't even get my laptop, desktop computer or phone to connect to that 2.4ghz network. This was days of trying. Then I accidentally knocked the plug for the gateway out of the a/c socket. Then bam! the 2.4ghz network worked and the printer connected. Then I tried the computers and they connected to the 2.4ghz network too. So, with my experience here is that even though the gateway is saying it is saving and rebooting. It is not. After you make your changes, let it reboot and then unplug the power and plug it back in.3Visto0likes0ComentariosRe: Epson Printer will not connect to 5G gateway

However, I was reading a thread on a Cannon connection problem and they solved their problem by changing the Gateway 5G default WPA setting to WPA/WPA2. That person's complete explanation is below. Hope that helps someone else. For my Pixma MG5420,I had to change the WPA version on theTmobile gateway app (Network tab, select your wifi network, under WPA version, change to WPA/WPA2 from WPA2/WPA3). Then on the printer, go to Device Settings ->LAN settings, ->wireless lan setup, ->Other setup options, ->Standard setup,->select access point, →Directly enter the access point name, then manually enter your wifi network and the passcode. I have an Epson ET-4800 that wouldn't connect to the gateway after 5-6 months. I read in the community about changing the WPAfrom WPA2/WPA3 which was recommended to the WPA/WPA2 and everything is corrected. I'd reach out to them to see if they can get one created for you. @tmo_mike_c How do you get ahold of this "Tech Care team"? If it is the main support line, then they don't have answers. They are just reading from a script and say they will forward to engineering and they never get back to you.5Visto1like0ComentariosT-Mobile High-Speed Internet Gateway-Gray
I just received the new gray addition home internet gateway. So far, I am happy with it. Also, I'm happy to get rid of my Cox internet high priced service. A few questions though. Has anyone figured out how to change the DNS settings? I want to get away from the default Google 8.8.8.8 How can you tell if it isusing the 4G LTE band or if it is using the 5G band? Status says I'm connected to both but 5G is on secondary. Is their a way to force it to use 5G?5.1KViews3likes21Comentarios
