Adding a new phone and line and getting a number in a different area code
I want to get a new line and a new phone on my account for someone who does not live in my area. When I was going through the steps of buying the new phone and adding service to it, it specifically mentioned my state for taxes. Where in the process can I choose a phone number in a different state? Getting another phone with a number in my state is not acceptable for my purpose.
Hi Dubbah. I haven't seen an option to select a number when adding the new line through the website or app. That does not mean you are without options, though. You are able to add the line with whatever number the system generates. The number can be changed to one with the area code you want as soon as the device ships out. Once you see that the order has shipped, you can reach out to our experts and request a number change and tell them what area code you would like and the new number should be active on the sim card before it even gets to its destination.
